I have not been in this thread, but I have to say...you listened to a different press conference than I did. Miles never admitted he was wrong about anything. He would not even take credit for the decision to stick with JJ...said it was a staff decision. Multiple times he blamed the players for not executing.
Yes, he said in hindsight he might change some play calls, but what coach can't say that after almost any game.

He did. I don't know why some are so quick, not you, but are so quick to just fly to the keyboards and piss on him.
Honestly.... we're rivaling Bama fans with this "entitled" attitude that's been floating around here for the last week.

Okay so birdman you are concerned that even ater those last two debabcles led by JJ that Les would still make it a point to lament the loss of jJ's versaility and how it would hurt LSU's offnese in 2012

He never said this. He said the opposite.

Actual quotes, or as close as I can remember:
"With Mett we will have more of a chance of a passing attack."
So you can quibble with me being a JJ defender but that simply is not the case. I don't understand why some of you just seem to like hating the man.
quote:
"Well I would tell you, we do the things that we can to give us BEST chance to win. We've done it every day and continue to. I understand the anger, and unhappiness. I'm uncomfortable with myself. What we're going to do here is look to next season, imrpove and CORRECT the mistakes made."
quote:
"I, again, there is some specific knowledge that we use to try to give our team it's best oppurtunity to win. I have to be very honest, we gave great thought to Jarrett. Hindsight I'd call every play different. We did what we thought what was best oppurtunity to win. We did it as a staff."
'I would review everything we did. I would change it, without question. I didn't know that at the time. Wish I had."
"I HAVE NOTHING against Jarrett Lee. NOTHING personal. I admire his career here. I hope he is successfull going forward"
"With Mett we will have more of a chance of a passing attack."

He did say that were were losing the ability to run the ball at the QB position.
What he never did was admit HE made mistakes.
I know it is tough for a guy that wanted JJ to be the QB to admit how poorly Miles managed the QB position of the last couple of years. However, everyone watching that game was amazed that he did not make a change. I can't believe that there is another college coach anywhere that would not have made a QB change in the ultimate game based on how JJ was playing.

He is pointing the finger at himself.

Is this directed at me? I wanted JJ to be QB?

I don't really know what more some people want the man to say.
I want Miles to shut up and start studying his Xs and Os. He needs some refresher training in that department.
He needs to stay the frick away from the LSU offense.

Even a high school coach would have been wise enough to make a change.

He's the head coach. He'll be involved. Deal with it.
It didn't hurt us this year. We just weren't prepared and he ALREADY ADMITTED IT.
Get over it.

FIFY
I almost barfed irl as he blamed others for not somehow making up for his QB's deficiencies, which apparently, once again, he was completely blind to. A few BS Les specials about him having a want to get JL in the game-anyone buying this should meet me on I-10 between EBR and WBR to take a look at an asset I would like to sell. Not one comment about the abomination we all witnessed behind center. More and more I am convinced that JJ thought he was playing well even while redefining the low mark for the position because Les was telling him he was doing well, and backing that up by never pulling him, and continuing to hand him the starting job as the offense with JJ at the helm sputtered for the first time all year.
For all those saying he didn't want to throw his players under the bus, it sounds to me like he gathered them all up and threw them ALL under en masse, except for his star QB.

I understand CLM making the game day decision that JJ gave us a better chance at victory against Bama due to his ability to scramble.
Here's my problem with this excuse, which is what it is!
What is his excuse for the games preceding that such as UGA, AR, Ole Miss? These are teams without a fierce pass rush as good as Bamas'.
For some reason, one he will never admit, CLM wanted JJ as the starter, and feared the interception risk of Jarrett Lee.
What's bad is that JJ held the ball with open receivers downfield, and he scrabled alright. 14 times for 15 yards, 3 fumbles and 1 interception. He single handedly killed our offense, and we all know it.
I'm a coach Miles fan, but must call em like I see em.
P.S. Those that say lets just move on should be reminded that A) it's only been 9 days, and B) We will be reminded for eternity about our inability to cross the 50 yard line. Get used to it.

The problem is that the problems didn't just arise on the 9th. JJ sucked from the beginning. He wasn't a passing qb, he wasn't a running qb, he didn't have a great attitude, he wasn't a leader, so WTF was he? I can't understand how in the frick a coach at this level could frick that up so bad. How can miles act like this just happened all of a sudden. The play on the field showed it. The offensive stats showed it. How in all frickin hell can't miles see that!?
And quit with the Bama like entitlement! Expecting your top paid coach who is leading an undefeated team into a national championship to make competent decisions that my fricking high school coach could have made is not fricking entitlement.
He pulled JL in bama 1 with the quickness, but in bama 2 he doesn't realize that JJ is shitting the bed until a week later!!!??? frick miles. That was a rediculous display of coaching incompetence.

Well CLM will be @ LSU for the forseeable future so perhaps you should be a fan of another team.
