Les Miles Or Ed Orgeron

Went to dinner with a couple buddies tonight, talking football. I’m the only LSU fan, and I was asked who I liked more. It was a tougher question than I thought.
Who would y’all say you enjoyed their time more than the other. Les obviously gave us more consistency. Went to 2 Nattys, winning 1, to Orgerons 1, but neither of Les' runs were perfect seasons. Or was that 2019 run that Orgeron gave us supersede anything Les accomplished. Both had such unique personalities, who both loved LSU. Maybe Ed O a little more due to how he grew up. Both gave us some really fun games. Won games we were told we had no chance in. Both left on different terms. Les was obviously there longer.
Anyways, I thought it was an interesting question, in which I said I had to lean Ed Orgerons time as a coach. That 2019 gave me so much joy and to me, and I had so more fun that season than Les ever gave me.

Overall, Orgeron coached teams were far less frustrating to watch than Les’. And he pulled together the pieces to produce 2019. So I’ll take Orgeron.

Loved them both until I didn’t.
Les - later than most but finally had it after our first quarter at Lambeau
O - when it was clear he wasn’t talking to players or even interviewing new coaches

Are you really an LSU fan because 100% of LSU fans know that Miles didn’t win 2 ships here.

O wasn’t afraid to try and change things up, in order to better the team. Les was so damn stubborn, and it was either his way or the highway. His stubbornness still pisses me off to this day, because we could have won at least 1 or 2 more Nattys under him, if he just would have changed his offense. Didn’t have to be an RPO spread type shite that we see now, but his old school offense was not going to beat Alabama, which is all he had to do.
As a football coach, Les was better though, and his teams were going to be tough as hell, especially on defense. His defenses were always ferocious, and he cared about winning the LOS more than anything else, which is one of the most important things if you want to win a lot of games, which Les did.
O loved LSU more than anything else, and even though he wasn’t the greatest football coach, I respect the hell out of someone who wants what’s best for LSU. O was also one of us, so it’s hard not to like someone like that, especially when you’re a coonass. I’ll probably go with O.

Congratulations!!
Not many posters find a way to stir shite on both Miles and Orgeron in the same thread.

Was praying immediately les would go. O wasn't a problem until his stupid choices caught up with him.
Les couldn't do anything besides hire good assistants

O drove me crazy with how unprepared the teams looked the majority of the time, with 2019 and parts of 2018 being the notable exceptions
Les drove me crazy with his stubborn refusal to evolve the offense as the game changed around him
Overall I have to give the nod to Les, but O had the higher high with the 2019 season. I had a lot of fun watching LSU football in the first half of Les' time with us.

Les never fielded a soft team that gave up. Despite his offensive stubbornness we still competed and had good defense.

I’m shocked we are almost a page in and no one has talked about Les end of game & clock management!
I like Coach O, can’t say the same about Coach Miles.

Miles made better coaching hires, but his offenses were incredibly frustrating.
Who enjoyed their time more? Maybe Miles, because he was at LSU longer.
I would like to believe that you know Miles only 1 championship. Perhaps you meant he went to two championships? Definitely would have won a 2nd if Okie St hadn't lost.
2011 was a ton of fun and it all came crashing down to the most frustrating game ever.
