he was never going to leave. arky made an offer...Les said no thanks. his raise and extension were in the works prior to the arky offer. what's the problem?

So should LSU also honor its contract to him over the next seven years no matter what?

les was never going to ark.

he wanted more money and knew alleva would be dumb enough to bite on the arky bullshite.

for all the shite i give les i gotta give him props for managing to get a raise after a 3 loss season and a loss in the chicken sandwich bowl.

can't wait to see what he's got planned if he gets his arse kicked in the music city bowl. i assume alleva will opt for lifetime contract.

How loyal would you be to your current job if someone else was offering a 25% raise?

This is how the business world works. Not sure why some here don't understand it.

It doesn't matter if you make $50k, or $4 million. A 25% raise is a 25% raise.

You should wake up and smell the 2000's. Chivalry is gone, loyalty is gone. We live in a "me" society.

That said, Les has now turned down 2 offers from his alma mater and a $5M+ offer from Arky. I would say it's pretty obvious where Les's loyalty lies. Don't let the arky job thing fool you, CLM was due a raise and it was already happening prior to the Arkansas stuff. His last raise was in 2007. He was due.

he got a raise for winning 13 games, another SEC West title, and another SEC championship. some of you really have a hard time understanding this.

Wow les is hard to listen to. He repeats every hard question

If someone is asking tough questions you run the clock out. Its a little surprising for Les to pay attention to the clock though.

i didn't.....but apparently you forgot about the entire season prior to that. and that's why he got his raise and extension.

He deserved a raise for that season. Last raise was in 2008 so was over due.

Against Texas. He had the "greatest college football team of all time" with two Heisman winners, and couldn't game plan to stop one guy. I'd call that a pretty shitty coaching job.

No reason not to add Brian Kelly to that list

Time for you to start living in the real world.

There is not one person that wouldn't at least think about taking a higher paying job.

Loyalty? Give me a fricking break.

I help run a small company with some friends, if another company came to me offering more money to do the same thing I would absolutely think about it. I probably wouldn't go because I like what we are building here, but I would still think about it.

Not really. He had some incentives added following 2011, which I doubt were met this year.

I don't have a problem with the game he and his agent play, all coaches do this. Anyone thinking he wasn't leveraging the Arky thing to get more money is delusional though, but there is not anything really wrong with it.
