we should never be picked to finish last 4 or anything like that saban set us up for the future and we're blowing it.

Again, some of the "experts", SEC coaches and even some of the fans that post on the rant picked LSU to lose 4,5 and perhaps 6 games this season. 3 losses is only going to get you third place at best.

And I'm not surprised that you would bring up saban. You saban nutsuckers do realise that saban bolted 10 years ago right. It sucks to lose, I agree there, but the dumbasses that don't or won't give Miles credit for the success he's had at LSU amaze me.

As far as saban setting us up for success, are you referring to that half arse job he did in recruiting his last year at LSU. LSU signed some where around 13 to 15 recruits after old nicky packed up and left. Setting us up for the future, give me a fricking break.

Rebuilding year?? They have 4-5 1st round draft picks on the defense and close to that on offense.

Ole Miss beating them is the only reason people say they are rebuilding. If they turned it over 5 times we would have won as well

Rebuilding? They're loaded with juniors and seniors. They lose something like 20 guys that played last night.

Don't kid yourself.

We say this every year about how bama will be "rebuilding."

For Nick Saban and Alabama, EVERY year is next year.

For Alabama, this was probably the closest you can get.

Their offense is not that good.

In my mind, you can have all the talent in the world, which we do,
No, we don't. This team lacks beef. Our front 7 on defense is undersized and lacks depth. They were getting pushed around some due to sheer size right from the beginning, and once the starters began to get tired, we were getting mauled. It's happened to some extent every game this season, and last night it was magnified.

We also lack depth on the offensive line, as despite trying continuously to run Fournette, our O-line wore down instead of their D-line. His yards looked harder as the game went on, not easier, as you might expect with "a good offensive line" continuing to run-block.

Now, before you go all doom and gloom, this is a special case of us vs Bama at their best (and make no mistake, they were extremely high for this game). I think we are ok for the rest of the schedule, and that should get us to 10-1. Arkansas might pose the biggest physical challenge, but I think that game being a revenge game in Tiger Stadium, with Fournette wanting to make amends for last night (and last year vs the Hogs), we will handle them. I think we overwhelm A&M and Ole Miss at the point of attack.
I also think we'll begin to see Steele and Orgeron bring in more big guys in the future. Davon Godchaux is an example; he wasn't a 5 star, just a big dude capable of sucking up some blocks. There will be more emphasis on getting guys like this, and less edge rushers that can't play against a physical running attack.

my question is, if LSU wins out and finishes the season 10-1 and in the top 10 in the country, do we still complain about Les Miles?

I had the 2015 team going 7-5 and 3-5 in conference play, largely because I believed LSU would not develop a passing attack this season. I've been wrong on both counts (and happy to be proven wrong for that matter).

A 9-2 or 10-1 season would far exceed my expectations and I'd salute the coaches and most important of all THE PLAYERS for this kind of record.

You said "saban set us up for the future" Recruiting is a big part of that "successful future."

I have been to a couple. Living on the west coast does not afford me the luxury of being able to attend many games. And why would that matter? Are you one of the "entitled fans" that feel like unless you attend every game you're not good enough to be a fan?

I don't care to get into a heated debate with you or anyone else. I understand the frustration from last nights loss, but I can't stand the back stabbing of coaches or players that comes with it.

Have a good day STLSU

Saban set the blueprint. But our S&C is lacking. Our OC and offensive philosophy are lacking. We need to adapt and roll with the changes.

Hell even the Gus Bus can beat Saban with inferior talent.

We can do better. We will.

Scoop is dead on - games are and lost in the trenches - they beat us on both sides and we are so thin that when we loose one guy , we feel it and they totally wore us down last night.

Does strong finish require that we beat Arkansas next week? If so, I am not sure how possible this strong finish is that you're referring to.

we should get rid of Steele (and Moffitt and BDP) and move Bebe to DC. He is recruiting beasts.

Shavar Manuel, Rashard Lawrence and company are coming to the trenches. Bebe can teach. I feel good there next year. You're right, we need numbers.

I also love me some Grimes.
