I haven't read the entire thread, but I'd be willing to bet there hasn't been one person supporting your ridiculous statements. Congrats again on mathing good. Are you an engineer?

he won because of an insane defense. one that kept us in the game into the 4th while our offense didn't cross the 50.

Who recruited those players on defense? Other coaches? Who recruited the coaches that recruited and coached those players?

Miles...

You can fault him for the mistakes of the program, but not credit him for the positives.

Real problems arise in a fanbase when you allow your passion to either positively or negatively affect your viewpoint

Nope, not an engineer. Are you going to start that thread or not?

It is his job to protect his players.

Too lazy, start your own thread on the MSB and see how many supporters you have

I'm not the one posing hypotheticals that don't apply to what was being discussed in this thread. Why is it my responsibility?

To be fair, you did admit you are lazy

This is a stupid argument. Using this logic, Saban has backed into every national championship game, but one. Saban only has one undefeated regular season, the same as Les Miles.

This is a good argument. 2007 was the only 2 loss BCS champions. But the thing about is that I believe every team had 2 losses I can be wrong.

And just for comparison, Mike Gundy's record at Oklahoma St. & Miles': Gundy - 82-43 (.656%) Miles - 28-21 (.571%)

So Gundy gets credit for wins from a Miles program inherited, but Miles doesnt get credit from a Saban program inherited?

At least be unbiased in your approach

I told him that the other day and he just ignored me

Some people just have it out for miles no matter what and just cherry pick stats to fit their argument

Negative people will see negative, and positive people will see positive. Logic of arguement damned, you wont change minds.

It just seems there are a very small minority that can respect Miles as a coach and as a person, see him for his positives and negatives, and assess the situation from a logical and unbiased viewpoint.

The rant was all aglow after Ole Miss, people saying they would never doubt Miles again. Now its catastrophe syndrome.

I just hope these people get on the right medication and dont react in their lives in this manner

Saban isn't available you fricking tard. I'd like to have Bear Bryant, but he isn't a possibility. What's the point of saying stupidity like that?

That's a straw man, BillyBob. I never said anything about who should get credit for what. I only posted those numbers because pro-Miles people so often go to the records/numbers as the trump card. The numbers reflect a great LSU Program, but many people are fixated on the coach and want to give him the lion's share of the credit. In my opinion, it's not merited.

Here are the numbers for what you mentioned:

Oklahoma St.

Miles - 28-21 (.571%), 0 Conference Championships, 0 Top-25 finishes, 1-2 in bowl games.

Gundy - 82-43 (.656%), 1 Conference Championship, 5 Top-25 finishes, 5-3 in bowl games.

In terms of SEC and National Championships at LSU, Saban accomplished in 5 years what Miles has in 10.

I think he did a good job against Ole Miss under difficult personal circumstances.

I certainly didn't say that I would never doubt him again, though.

Overall, the negatives outweigh the positives for me.

The numbers don;t lie. This team has been in free fall since the debacle in the Dome. 0-4 v. Bama. Steadily worsening records, losing by getting shut out to a 2 year defeated Arkansas team, and now the ignominy of sweating out a Bid to Shreveport...

Your post was great.! The problem is that half of the "fans" on this board were in Kindergarten, elementary and Junior High during the Hallman and DiNardo years and have no understanding of what it was like in the 80's and 90's. Apparently their intellectual growth stopped in 2000. They are spoiled and believe that if we don't play for the National Championship, the season was a failure. You think this season was a nightmare? You want Miles gone? Who are you going to replace him with? Let's say it's your job to go out and find somebody who, over ten years, will do better than Miles; someone who will win those conference titles and SEC west titles, and 80% of his game and a National Championship and all the other incredible accomplishments. Who are you going to get? There's your nightmare!
