Continuing to trot out Jennings game after game is my only gripe. Most leveled headed fans saw this as a potential down year.

agree on both..
as to the second I think a 4 Ls year(possibly 5)
with a shutout by Arky...may be more than a down year

He's not going anywhere, so you better learn to live with it. All of this stuff is pointless.

You really believe that 05, 06, 07, with holdovers from Saban count towards now?

Hasn't he been to only 1 BCS bowl in the last 6, now 7 seasons?

It was a good ride. But the ride has ended. Thanks for the memories and contributions to LSU. But it's time for a new era.

not so sure...let it repeat itself and watch.
...but NO, not this year.
Alleva screwed us for a few years and it would take something extreme, one year is not it.

But quarterbacking and offensive production continue to be a huge problem almost every single year, putting us very far back in national rankings. This is ugly football that kills fans enthusiasm. If we could be consistently decent on offense no one would complain. Asking your defense to somehow win every game is an unfair request to make, because in order to win you actually need to be able to score points.

His entire track record counts towards now. You don't cut ties with arguably the most successful coach in your history who, not arguably, has led you to the most consistently successful decade in your school's history, based on three seasons that some would consider disappointing that come on the heels of a 12-0 regular season, SEC championship and national runner-up. It's an awful precedent to set and puts a big red flag over the LSU job for the foreseeable cycle of years. You have to give Miles as much time as you reasonably can to right the ship. Year three since our last time at or near the top is coming to a close. Obviously even the great ones run their course. Often due to stubbornness and a failure to adapt. Personally, if I was in charge, I'd let Les know that he has to show me something next year or he's gone. But I'm not in charge, so...

All of this talk is pointless as I said. I wouldn't bet on next year either unless he leaves on his own. He'll win enough games next year to keep the job. Just watch.

Winning percentage up until 1/9/12: 81.5%

Winning percentage after 1/9/12: 71%

Nick Saban in the same time: 89%

Gus Malzhan in the same time: 79%

Kevin Sumlin in the same time: 73%

Dan Mullen in the same time: 66%

So he's been slightly better at winning games than Dan Mullen. And worse than 3 other coaches in his own division. Despite having arguably the best players of all those teams.

How long can you rest on his early laurels? Do coaches not get better? Did guys like Larry Coker, Mack Brown, Lane Kiffin, and Ron Zook not ruin great programs? Why is Miles granted immunity? Because he won a national title 7 years ago despite backing into the game?

if ENOUGH games is only 3 losses, you are likely right
if we have 4 losses next year ... it is over.

Now you're melting so badly you're just copying and pasting the same response everywhere. All over some facts

Why would i be melting?im fine. I have facts that span a decade. Your facts are about 1 game. How much does it hurt your heart knowing Miles is the most successful coach in lsu history?

Divisional Champions

Here are some more FACTS:

Since 2007, Saban has a better overall and SEC record.

Urban Meyer had a better overall and SEC record at Florida than Miles does at LSU.

Gus Malzahn has a better overall and SEC record since he's been in the league.

Steve Spurrier has a better overall and SEC record since 2012.

Mark Richt has a better overall and SEC record since 2012.

Gary Pinkel has a better overall and SEC record over the last 2 years.

Dan Mullen has a better conference record over the last 2 years.

And just for comparison, Mike Gundy's record at Oklahoma St. & Miles':

Gundy - 82-43 (.656%)

Miles - 28-21 (.571%)

Here's the thing. No need to run around with your hair on fire defending him because you are going to get what you want. Thanks to his contract he's here for a while and you'll get to see this thing through. It will be interesting at what point if ever you will change your mind. Do you believe all coaches consistently produce at the same peak level until the day they retire? Or do you think most coaches reach a peak at some point and then are not as effective? Where do you believe Miles is on this curve?

Some of us don't look at stats, records, or facts in a vacuum. We try to see the big picture. We see patterns, trends, and other things that matter.

Miles had what most would consider a mediocre record when he got here. He inherited what most would consider a pretty good football team. The facts you posted don't show some particular games that are burned into fans memories forever. Some of those games LSU lost and a few of them they even won but in a fashion that made them unforgettable. These games and how he coached in them and how the team performed matter to some. To others like you all that matters is the record. I won't go through and list all these games because they don't matter to you.

You have conceded that Bama is the best and will always be the best. if that is your attitude then it tells me a lot about you.

What I see is an above average coach who landed in a nice situation. To his credit he was able to have lots of success. At this point I think he is stubborn and would rather lose his way than adapt. The coaches he will face in the west are better than they were when he got here.

If you think this offense is acceptable at a school of LSU's caliber then fine. If you think getting beat 21-0 in the NCG with that game plan and alack of adjustments is acceptable then fine. If you think having Andrew Hatch start a game at Auburn is acceptable then fine, If you think having 2 scholarship Qb's (a true fresh and soph) is acceptable then fine. if you think that effort, game plan, and performance Saturday was acceptable then fine. But you won't convince me of it.

You win.
