Bama was given yet another chance.

Worst skulldrag by Gumps since '02.
In amazingly short time it's only one more for Bebe to tie Cholly for the lead in shutout by Bama (since facemasks).

There are close friends of Saban who are LSU fans, Saban told them as much.

Les Miles is the pall that still hangs over this program.

Sure, with Saban's remaining players and recruits he was able to stand toe-to-toe with Alabama, but when that talent equivalence disappeared so did our relevance. And what's the primary reason it disappeared? Himself. His ineptitude. His inability to institute modern offense. When we had a chance to PERPETUALLY rival Alabama by impressing high school students he stubbornly stuck with obsolescence, and NOBODY was impressed. That stink hasn't washed out, and Orgeron is having to deal with it.... although I must say that this latest bit by Coach O praising the "excellence" of Ensminger's performance has me troubled. Far more serious things in this world to worry about, however.

LSU won in 2010 and 2011, 6 and 7 years after Nick Saban had left the program, respectively.

LSU took Alabama down the wire in 2012 and 2014.

Les Miles had 3 career wins against Nick Saban. Let's not pretend the man was terrible at his job.

Hell, if Miles had given up on the Michigan offense, he'd probably have another NC under his belt and he'd still be the head coach.

Because if LSU still hasn't scored a point against Ala during three years with Orgeron at the helm, he's gone!

Just so I understand, you think the reason LSU doesn't have a chance against Alabama is because of Orgeron? Is that the point you are making?

21-0, LSU could not cross midfield. Les Miles kept an undefeated, 8-0, senior quarterback on the bench the entire game. Les Miles never gave LSU a chance in the biggest game of all.

No team will beat this Bama team this year. Les Miles was not effective and basically got LSU where they are now offensively.

Let's fire O and Ensminger, and let Brennan start.

You people want to be Nebraska? Because this is how you become Nebraska.

One game blowout, shutout, denying LSU a title, Orgeron's going to give you three like that!

I'm saying Les miles had his issues, but there was never a point where I thought he couldn't compete with Saban, be a threat to Saban. Miles was such a loose cannon, even Saban feared his Yankee arse.

We hired a guy who lost to Les Miles. Let that sink in. LEs Miles had to go, that's a fact BUT, we should have went for an upgrade not downgrade.

LSU program does it best when Northern Coaches take the reigns instead of "Southern Baws."

Miles vs Saban head to head

2007 - W
2008 - L in OT to (#1, I believe) - J. Lee Pick 6 and OT INT on 2nd down.... hell of a coaching job
2009 - L - pretty sure this was P. Peterson "INT" game, LSU led in 4th quarter, I believe.
2010 - W
2011 - W
BCS -- Lost, we all know the story... never should have been a "rematch"... but there was and LSU lost
2012 - L, led in 4th quarter - Bama wins on last drive TD
2013 - L
2014 - L, in OT --- again LSU led in 4th quarter, I think this was the game with the on-side kick LSU recovered .25 yards short of 10 yards. Bama scored late to tie and won in OT.
2015 - L

So, over that entire span... 3 times Miles lost without really having a shot to win. 2 in Tuscaloosa and the BCS game. Nobody has an explanation for the BCS game letdown... it happened.

I too wish Miles would have upgraded the offense and in the end replaced Cam Cameron with a young, talented OC... but he didn't and it cost him his job.

I'm not convinced in any way that we are better off today and more competitive with Bama... in fact, it appears we are not competitive with them at all.

Fricken Arkansas scored 31 points on them... we are their ONLY shutout for the season... the only team that has not scored on them all year.

Clemson has the best chance. If Notre Dame doesn't want to be embarrassed, they'd better lose a game soon.

Never would've seen SECCG or 1-9-12 without benching Lee.

False again.

Oh and Ed O gave them a chance two years ago as well.
