Jimbo Fisher was never coming to LSU.

FSU is an easier job, and far easier to win 10 there than at LSU.

Jimbo would have played the LSU card, with Sexton to get him more money at FSU.

You got good information there.

I heard that they had signed Deion Sanders as DB coach, and Jerry Rice as WR coach too. Drew Brees agreed to act as part time QB consultant.

Too bad it all fell apart, right?

I followed the entire thing very closely, to an obsession level...I remember all the threads

It was the most bizarre thing ever...But, I know it was going down...UNTIL game day!!!

the piece I recall was King "at half time" told Alleva, we can't do this..."it will look bad for LSU" ..."to pay 15 million to fire a winning coach, and right now I am sure we going to have classes next fall"

So, it all makes sense to me...It explains Miles actions and being carried off the feild.

If Miles wins the MNC all will be forgiven and forgotten.

I love Miles but I can tell you, ApexTiger is ready for change...

Jimbo would have been a slam dunk major league hire...

and yes, I believe he wants the job...

I also believe Miles loves Coaching LSU and has stepped up his game big time...

I was on an iPhone, and I apologized for it.

As I said, could be completely made up, but it certainly seems plausible.

Lookn at recruiting, rehiring of Austin Thomas and getting Aranda and Craig,I'm glad les stayed. Assuming he turns a corner with offensive philosophy. Stoops was 8-5 and a hair away from being ran out of Norman and he did it. Patterson has done it. Saban has done it and he did it without changing the physical style running attack. Now Clm prove that you belong in the convo with the sabans and Meyers etc etc and bring another faaaaakn natty to Baton Rouge !!!!!

Can't wait to see the 30 for 30 after Miles wins the National Championship this year.

I was told by a family member who is a TAF employee that the deal went south when Jimbo demanded Saban money.

Obviously it is a far fetched story that could be completely fabricated, but would be interesting if true.

I have heard similar. It's not far fetched.

This is what it looked like to me as well. Jimbo is happy at FSU and was just looking for a raise which he attained.

Pretty much exactly what I expected happened, although I thought Fisher backed out last second.

It was just a interesting story. It actually made sense of how it went down. The guy who told me is always a straight shooter, and the way he told the story actually had me believe it. I think honestly something close happened and that is why we had such a cluster.

It was a very interesting story. You then used always a straight shooter to describe your corporate lawyer. I've dealt with many. That term can't be used with any validity.

You were doing great until decided to be a jerk. I forgive you, I love Tiger fans, I am sure we would get along

Believe what you want...I read a lot of board material during football season, I am 13 year veteran around here and other Tiger Boards, I have seen a lot of stuff over the years, and I know who to listen to...when it comes to solid sources.

Gruss said Miles days were numbered when we lost badly to Alabama... LF lost the hiesman that evening...emotions were high!!!...determined it would be the last time our proud alumni be embarrassed with Miles as our coach.

TIFWIW...the wheels were in motion before we lost 2 more games "badly"...when we lost 2 more, it was a forgone conclusion in mind it was "Ovah". I was sad for Miles after the Ole Miss loss, I sure his tenure was done.

8-3 coaches don't get carried off the field if the players don't think "this is it".

I believe because LSU depends on a bankrupt state to keep the doors open, administrators stepped and stopped a black eye from "winning football trumps education".

2 different types of funding, 1 rules the day...the one that is bankrupt

Football is a profit center...

Miles is acting like a new man....this is good

only 2 things can happen

It's amazing how all the people that hate miles and lsu football are the ones that parade this story as if it's fact. It's an interesting observation and proves that confirmation bias is real.

I love coach Miles...a number of years ago I used to start "Posi threads" because there was so much negativity

Miles lost me last year....

He is our coach, so I am back on board...

I could be Biased but I do love Coach Miles...I mean that's just a fact.

It's also a fact, I hate losing to Saban in the fashion we did last year and the 2011 MNC game, now making it 5 straight now!

Miles is stubborn...this is the part many Tiger fans hate about him...

He will change or he will get run....eventually

I try to just enjoy the games....but I want to win big so it gets hard seeing an offense that can't complete a forward pass
