The 3 INTs didnt hurt in the sense that it led to Ole Miss points. all it did was potentially take points off the board for us. So yeah the O struggled. The INTs were no different than 3 punts and the O did enough to get us back in the game.
500+ yards on D is where i squarely put the blame on this.
Seriously BB I am not trying to be offensive here but you don't know what you are talking about. Those 3 int's hurt big-time and were one of the big reasons we lost that game. Was the defenses poor play one of the big reasons also, absolutely. Was coaching "not having the team prepared properly" one of the big reasons absolutely. But those int's hurt more than you can even know.
As a poster said first and foremost they took points off the board, you have to figure when you are on the opponents 35yd line or closer their goal line you are going to come away with points, worst case would have been 6 points but the way our offense has been playing this year you have to figure 10 or 14pts. But for arguments sake let's split the difference and say 10pts. There is a huge difference between going into halftime tied at 10-10 and going in down 10-0, and the biggest difference is you have now given the opponent the emotion that they can hang with you and even beat you. Playing with emotion and confidence is a big thing, putting up points on the board is a big thing and those 3 interceptions really took the wind out of the sails of LSU you could see it in how the defense responded and you could see it in how the offense responded. Those interceptions were huge!!!!
Blame lies squarely on Mett -1/3, Defense 1/3 & coaching 1/3

He benched Lee for 1 interception at the Bama game..up to then he was undefeated.,,he was never really to play again
Lee got another chance after the first int. You know what he did with that second chance right?

Miles should bench himself for fumbling and bumbling. If someone carries 200 times without a lost fumble, I think you can overlook it.

He does that everytime a back fumbles. He did it with Magee earlier this year. Why is that so shocking?
becuase we have a game plan that based on using certain players and their strenghts. When Miles removes one of the main players for the game plan, that causes the offense to not be a effective as it could be. It may have caused Cam to change the plan, therfore resulted in the three interceptions in the first quarter.

i am having trouble defending our coach for shite like this. You put the team and win first. You punish at practice.
You won't beat Bama pulling shite like this. Did Saban pull Yeldon after he fumbled inside the aTm 5yd line? That could have clearly cost them the game.
Didn't Yeldon have a fumble against LSU last year? Yet Saban went to him on the big screen play for the winning TD.
Point is some mistakes need to be handled during a game. But seriously, if Mettenberger can throw 3 horrible int's surely Hill can be forgiven 1 fumble we recovered that wasn't even caused by Ole Miss!

It's a dumb fricking move since it was Hill who fumbled. You wouldn't bench AP if he fumbled.

Actually Yeldon was "benched" for about the same amount of time that Hill was "benched" yesterday.

Has he explained why he kicked Jarrett Lee to the curb as well because of one bad half after he led the team to an 8-0 start and only threw one interception while doing so?
He threw two interceptions almost back to back dumbass

1. We have 4 capable backs.
2. Not having Hill in for a couple of series did NOT cost us this game. If you think it did, you are an idiot.

where did you hear that? That's pretty outrageous if true. Every RB is going to fumble at some point and Hill is pretty good at securing the football. You don't sit your best back in such a close game for such a dumb reason.

doesn't matter what his yard per carry was that game. He is still our best back by far and the one who gives the best chance of breaking off a big run or taking it to the house. Hill is a big time weapon that needs to be on the field. It would be like taking Landry and OBJ out because they dropped a pass and putting in Boone and Wright. You just don't do that if you are trying to win the game.

So you agree with Lee never seeing the field again the rest of the year after ONE bad quarter of football? After leading the team to 8-0, led SEC in pass efficiency, only threw one pick, and Jefferson not being able to get first down entire first half of SEC title game, and BCS disaster, etc.?
Take your Miles homer glasses off.

Football, and particularly college football is a game of momentum and emotion. Did Mett's 3 picks lose the game? No, but it hurt the team emotionally and denied the ability to gain momentum. The picks also gave OM momentum and emotional confidence. So in that sense, they're far worse than punts. Same with Hill. He fumbles and knows that his arse is gonna be punished. He's emotions shift. And when he gets back in, he's tentative. He doesn't want to risk another fumble. If you watch Hill, he gets better as the game goes on. He builds momentum. If he is on the bench, that doesn't happen. The other backs are quality guys, but Hill gets the press. He's the guy OM focused on in practice and is the guy they're looking for in the game. When they know he's out, it's another battle they've won. More momentum for them. Les would do better to inspire the guys who make mistakes, show them he still has confidence in them. That's what happened to J.Lee. As soon as JJ was back, Lee was constantly looking over his shoulder, knowing a mistake would send him to the bench. He lost his edge, his confidence, and at the end of the day, his job.

We recovered it and he hasn't lost a fumble in like 240 carries. Les is an ego maniac.

Les is a fricken dumb arse Hill has had 1 fumble in around 250 carries and he throws him on the bench...???...???
