This is the best analysis of a running controversy that I would dearly love to see ended. Thanks for the insight

Saban is the best defensive Coach LSU has ever had. He is a prick and a douche and left for so called greener pastures. He thinks his intellect is for above any coonass's in the state and he said on the record. So you guys can keep sucking him off like jilted girlfriends I'll embrace Miles because he doesn't have a greater than though complex. And he can coach.

Saban thinks he is better than everyone...not just coonasses. And for the record all the ones picking Miles over Saban as LSU's best coach could Miles have done what Saban did? Taking a loser to a powerhouse. Not to belittle Miles but sustaining a program is easier than building one.

In 1989-2001, OSU made one bowl appearance. Each of Miles' last three Cowboy teams played in a bowl. It's time to give Miles his due. What he did in 2001-04 with the Cowboys remains a prominent factor in what's happening now at OSU. "He kind of got us started with being a physical football (program). We became tougher, in my opinion. ... That was one (characteristic) that, after he left, I wanted to keep," said Mike Gundy, who was Miles' offensive coordinator in 2001-04.

He was 28-21 at Ok. St. while he did beat OU a few times and go to bowls he hardly built a powerhouse.

Question is who is a better coach Gundy or Miles? Hasn't Gundy taken Ok.St to a higher level then Les did?

I love how these new era LSU fans like to point to his days at OSU and say they were mediocre. OSU hadn't done shite since Barry Sanders left before Les Miles got there. And it is a hell of a lot harder to fight OU every year for recruits in that area. They main recruiting hot bed is Texas so think on that. Saban had it made coming here in terms of recruiting. That bull shite of it's harder to build than maintain is just that bullshite. To maintain you have to fight everyone off who used to just overlook you because you sucked.

New Era LSu fan? I have been a fan since the late 70's dumbass.

IMO Saban is a much better coach than Miles. Take a poll of people who know football and Saban will win in a landslide.

Saban being a better coach is not a knock on Les and I don't know why yall can't accept that....Saban is regarded as the best coach in the country quit being f'n homers and accept that.

If Les had been there 3 more years, who knows where OSU would be.

And battling OU and Texas for the instate kids > having LA all to yourself.

They were a mediocre team were they not? It doesn't mean he didn't do a good job there but Les has never built a team into a powerhouse....Saban has done it twice and won 2 NT at different schools....that should end the arguement. Les wins anothewr then the arguement has validity.

LA is top 3 recruiting states easily. having the whole state to yourself is waaaay better than fighting UT and OU for recruits, two of the premier programs in college football.

As long as coach L M can compete with Alabama,Florida,& Auburn year in &yr out, he will leave LSU as not only the most successful coach in LSU History but the most revered coach in all sports @ LSU, including baseball {Skip Bertman} Of course, Skip Bertman should be in the hall of fame for hiring coach Miles. The sec west should be fun, much like Tx-Oklahoma in the Big 12. Great time to be a Tiger Fan!!!

I would rate Saban and Miles about even. Miles has been a more consistent winner as Saban only a single year with fewer than 3 losses (2003). Miles has had several of those. NC's are even and SECCG appearances are even, although Saban gets an edge with 2 SEC titles to 1. Miles was fortunate to get to the BCSCG with 2 (triple OT) losses compared to Saban's 1 (UGLY) loss, but Saban was lucky to get to an SEC title game with 3 losses in 2001. BCS appearances/wins are even at 2. Just going by record, I would give Miles a slight edge, but I give a very slight edge to Saban due to the fact that he turned around a losing program and Miles did not (although the cupboard was NOT bare when Saban took over).
