He became "incompetent" at offense following the Crowton-Lee year of 7 pick sixes.

There’s really no need for this

There was also no need for everyone to start thread after thread talking about how Les was going to turn Kansas into a solid program when everyone with half a brain knew he wasn’t.

There were many, many people who would fight tooth and nail to never admit that Les was benefiting from our embarrassment of riches as a program and wasting a ton of it with HIS terrible offense.

Not Cam’s, not Crowton’s, HIS terrible fricking offense.

Meanwhile, we’re beating the top 10 team in the country on the road with a high powered offense, oh yea, and Ed fricking Orgeron is the guy doing it. Every single person who ever said that we’d be worse off without Les should have to sit in this thread and admit how wrong they were

In Les’s defense. Kansas was the worst team in college football last year and they have very little talent.

But Coastal Carolina?

I didn’t even know they played football.

This was a basketball school losing a football game to a baseball school.

Well this just isn't true at all. They were bad. They weren't anywhere near the worst

I forgot about Rutgers. They were close enough to be in the conversation and recruiting wise the cabinet was empty. Prior to Les Miles being hired at Kansas they had two 4 or zero 5 star recruits on the team. They still have zero 5 star recruits and only three 4 star recruits on the team.

As bad as Les Miles's offenses at LSU were and as bad as Les's offense has been at Kansas so far, it is still an improvement from where they were last year.

How many seasons were wasted bc of Les’ putrid offense? Seeing LSU and Kansas now really brings it home.

He shoulda been fired after the Ole Miss play clock debacle years ago. Bobby Jindals last big FU to the state before he left office, calling in to the pres to save Les’s job.

Jindal was governor, but it was JBE told that LSU that he would not protect them if they fired Les and hired Jimbo. JBE would have been governor the next time when the legislature met for the special session on the budget.

Then he promises to change his whole offense and runs out the same exact crap. All he had to do was hire an up and coming offensive mind (like O did with Brady) and take his hands off the steering wheel and he’d probably would’ve won another championship and still be the coach here.

I hate when people compare Les to Saban but it is warranted in this sense. In the 2018 CFP championship game against UGA, Saban pulled a heisman candidate QB and put a freshman in. Same thing with offensive coordinators. Saban saw that his style of offense was not working as well as it had been in the past and Alabama would not stay the dominant team that it had been if he stuck with the traditional Saban offense, and he went way out of his comfort zone and brought in Lane Kiffin.

I do not know if LSU would have come back and beat Bama on the day that shall not be named if Les had benched Jefferson for Lee, or if the offense would have turned around if Les had replaced Cam as OC after the 2014 or 2015 season, LSU would have at least played with a pulse on the offensive side of the ball and given the defense a chance to rest and that would have kept us competitive in some of the games we lost. Les is not an incompetent coach like most you of Les hating morons think. He was just too loyal of a coach and that was his undoing at LSU.

ETA: Of course it did not help that Alleva was giving the assistant coaches such high salaries and buyouts that LSU could not afford to buyout and replace them with quality assistants if Les had wanted to.

Les is gone and Alleva is gone. It is time for everyone to just move on.

I was bored so I went on YouTube and listened to his presser from after their loss yesterday. I didn’t last more than 2-3 minutes. It was the same mumbling, incoherent, evisceration of the English language. It’s sad to see what has happened to that man.

I was a big critic of Les and felt he was overdue to be canned as he would not update the offense and it was becoming obvious we were never going to truly be relevant again. He relied on our emense talent, but he squandered it!! How many times did we groan and sweated out a win due to our putrid offense? That all being said, a soft spot has opened up for me, I want to hope that Les is successful at Kansas. However, without all the talent, he has been exposed at Kansas. They are terrible...unless he can attract some talent, he will be sent out to pasture after a couple of more years..

This. He won an NC for LSU so now a few fans randomly bash him on a message board.

Unless there’s a financial reason, I don’t think Les makes it more than two years.

Hell no.

Saban, Urban Myer, the 1990's Steve Spurrier, or the 80's Jimmy Johnson could not make Kansas look good this year.

I loved Les until about 2014.

He shut down the offense routinely and ran Fournette into a stacked line.

We had loaded teams go 9-3 and get stomped by bama, arky, etc.

He refused to allow pass plays other than deep play action throws or that same lame arse slip screen that every team knew we ran.

D coordinators openly laughed at us post game, see clemson fiasco.

I didnt want Coach O, but he just beat the guy we wanted over him, and we FINALLY have a passing offense. All is good in tiger land.

500 plus yards against Texas makes me happy.

This is completely normal for schools ranked in the middle of the 100 + schools in division 1.

A lot of people don't realize that there are tiers of bad with that many schools.

last year Kansas won three games and all three of the teams they beat would probably have been favored against coastal Carolina.

Look at Kansas results last year. On no planet are they supposed to lose to coastal Carolina
