love how people are labeling Leonard as a bust. He got hurt week 1 and it lingered all season. The games when he was remotely healthy he had over 100 yards from scrimmage. And he had 1,500 yards from scrimmage as a rookie.

Not to mention the disaster that is the Jags QB/OL/WRs. Which one are you going to focus on stopping if you are the opposing DC:

(a.) Leonard Fournette
(b.) Blake Bortles ?

As a rookie last year he had 1000 yards while splitting carries and having no passing attack to back defenders off. People labeling him a bust should just be ignored in any future discussion about football.

A shitty origination left and right. They can say whatever they want. This organization also seems to think Jalen Ramsey is “professional” if that says anything.

Yes it is Rickky. His vision is what is holding him back... He is a straight up runner and if there is NO hole he will fall.............

I wanted to downvote, but let's look at Derrick Henry and Leonard Fournette. I thought Henry would be the bust by now. Guess I was wrong.

Henry: 47 games, 2293 yards, 22 TDs

Fournette: 21 games, 1479 yards, 14 TDs

You are wrong again.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are what’s holding him back...

I love LF7 but you can spin it any way you want. Teams do not find ways to release top picks and take on the hassle of fighting over guaranteed contracts without something happening.

Here is your problem... You have an LSU BIAS.......

I care about LSU players when they play for LSU.... What they do after doesn't bother me... Bottom line is at the PRO level, LF is just not that good unless he gets behind a decent o-line and a better system.. He still has a vision problem as far as finding another way to go.. He is great if you get him to the 2nd level, But getting him there is the key............

Well rickydude, you're no scout for sure

quote:

Some scouts have expressed concerns about Fournette's punishing running style. He rarely gives tacklers a free pass, which opens him up to punishment he doesn't have to take. Fournette's power and speed are more than enough to help create high-end yardage totals for himself, but he can still improve with better vision and footwork when wading through the murk between the tackles. While Fournette has improved as a third-down option, he still has some work to do as a receiver and pass protector.

NFL . Com

It's always been his weakness.

Looking at it objectively, he obviously needs to sort out some personal things. I don't think that happens until he has a change of scenery. If he's able to take a step back and mature a bit I don't see any reason he can't have a productive career. Players go through adversity and grow up sometimes. Hoping for the best for him.

Agreed, Leonard might not have drawn the best lot in the draft, but his team is in serious need of leadership and his response has been horrible.

Based on what?

All the all 22 game tape youve viewed?
All the all 22 game tape yoive viewed while also knowing the play call?

Or is the tv broadcast where you had a bird's eye view of the previous play and thought you saw a cutback lane?

Just stop. No one that gets paid to evaluate talent thinks his vision is garbage.

The lack of any pass threat and unhealthy olinemen is what held him back this year.the holes that were there last year when he finished 8th in the league in rushing werent there this year.

Correct. He's a brute, but lacks the vision and finesse.

Once he breaks the LoS he's a beast though

My friend, of course I have an LSU bias. Why wouldn’t I? Why do you just stop caring for players when they make it to the league. Be honest. Tell me what NFL rb would succeed on the Jags right now? The answer is NO ONE. You think Gurley, Barkley, Kamara, Mcaffery, etc. would perform the way they do on the Jags? Of course not. Like I said they have Blake Bortles. Their WR corps is the worst in the league, and so is their offensive line. Jacksonville and Buffalo are the worst spots to be right now if you’re a RB. If we put him on a good team with a competent coaching staff he would perform extremely well, and all of these “hot takes” would look retarded. Look what he did last year, when they actually could somewhat play football in Jacksonville. You can look at it anyway you want. Remember when Jared Goff played under Jeff Fisher with horrible weapons his rookie season? He was horrible and labeled a bust. Switch Patrick Mahomes and Sam Darnold right now. Would Mahomes put up the ridiculous numbers he has? Would Darnold be as bad? No. You have to take into account all of these things man, instead of looking at basic things.

Well "troy is more talented than lsu"

I can post many saying its a strength.

quote:

Strengths:

Explosive

Elusive; has moves in the open field to dodge blockers

Fast; can break off long touchdown runs

Threat to score on any carry

Rare acceleration

Great balance

Tough, physical runner

Power back who can run over defenders

Vicious stiff-arm

Excellent vision

Great feet

Cutting ability

Has returned kicks

Ideal build and size

Gets lots of yards after contact

Finishes runs well

Ideal build and size

Burst to the hole

Has great straight-line speed to pull away from defenders

And as i said, i dont think think his vision is a strength but its not bad.

In no way did the one you post say his vision was bad.

History and empirical evidence. Name another top 4 pick with a voided contract less than two years after signing.
