Just curious why nobody seems to think it could be Lemonis. He's certainly done well in his short stay at MSU.

Because the new coach met with Scotty yesterday. You think a coach would do that before his first game in Omaha?

JC was the first to actually mention his name. He's underpaid but won't be after this year with the market resetting. He's got a great gig there at State with the new stadium and only having to recruit against Bianco in state. Not sure why he would leave unless he was just chasing money. Besides having to be in Starkville, State is a better place to be right now than LSU.

He falls in the category of
Good enough school that’s he’s not looking to jump ship and not a proven enough coach that Woody would throw the bank at him.
Vitello: Tennessee plays in a high school stadium that they built at the same time we built the new box. The money is not being dedicated there and in general the AD is a shite show.
Corbin: great situation but Woody may be handing him a blank check.

State might be the only job in the country that is better than the LSU job right now. Off the chart facilities and support.

FOR THE 1000 TIME - DEALS ARE DONE THROUGH AGENTS, NOT COACHES

Why not go get his former head coach who is the same age and a better coach?

He's awesome.
But MSU is the one program that might be better than LSU at the moment.

You were doing ok until you got to the part about State being a better place to be than LSU for baseball or any sport really. This is really not the best year to try to evaluate where programs are based on their win/loss. There will be massive exists when a ton of experience left in place due to the Covid extensions goes away. That’s most of the teams in the league.

Unless he's living at the ballpark (and he might be) it still sits in the middle of Starkghanistan - so there's that

Depends on how you view it.
Vandy has a terrible stadium and facilities and the fan support is almost nonexistent but they are a private school so the recruiting benefits are second to none.
