Williams didn't even have any "bros" on the Saints staff. He was basically an outcast.
Williams was a GA at the U of Houston while Nick was at the Oilers, the year Nick left to become coach at Toledo, the Oilers hired Williams...perhaps Nick helped him get the job and was calling in an old favor

No coach is going to accuse another without proof.
And who would you report the offenses to anyway? The SEC? The NCAA? They don't regulate coaches, really.

So there's no possible way that Williams could have left his office in the Superdome.......went down to watch LSU practice for a little while and relayed what he saw to the Bama coaches?
Considering that the Saints don't practice in the Superdome, but at their practice facility, I'd say the odds are pretty slim.

This could have taken 45 minutes of his day.
Would've taken him that long to get to the Superdome from Metairie.

You JUST said that Williams had a working relationship with Saban.
Saban also has a working relationship with Bob Stoops. Your point?
quote:
Are you saying that there's no possible way Williams could have went down to watch LSU practice?
No, what I'm saying is that Williams had far more important things to do than concern himself with an hour practice (that was open to the media by the way, so the odds of anything actually being placed in the game were slim as it is) just to spy for Alabama.

Have you never done a favor for someone else at your job?
Irrelevant. Two completely different worlds.

If your gameplan was given away, of course it's going to look terrible.

I gotcha. I guess a POS is gonna POS. frick Gregg Williams. A bounty needs to be put on his head if he ever steps foot back in the state Louisiana again.

Prom makes a very good point and it's one that gives this particular controversy "legs":
Fans who watched that game have known that something was inexplicably "worng" , and the coaches couldn't fix it...
Miles was silent, but there was a lot of buzz about what happened.
This is a very plausible explanation.
And this issue will not go away, even tho' Les will have nothing to say about it .

There is no possible way of that because Saints coaches don't have offices in the Super Dome. They're on Airline Highway.
"Sorry Coach Payton, I'm going to just be working a half day today. I know it's the playoffs and all but Nick asked me to go learn the intricacies of Les Miles' new high octane offense. Nick is terrified."
I love how drunk arse Bobby who everyone in New Orleans know to be a kook is now the grand source who blew the lid on this whole scheme.

What about the first game? Your offensive ineptitude was on display there as well. It was only after JJ came in and starting running the option that your offense got moving. Alabama had over a month to prepare for it. Is it so suprising that they stopped it?

Indeed.
90% of LSU fans wondered why Les never had an explanation for what happened. People STILL give him shite and act like he owes them an explanation.
In this situation, what could he possibly come out and say?
Pretty much what he said after it happened. Absolutely nothing.

You speak with such certainty, you must be a part of the staff at Alabama.

That condescending comment is funny considering Alabama couldn't kick FG's or score.

UPT, so you're saying Saints coaches had no access to LSU practices?

Not condescending. Just telling it like it was. I'm not the one who removed your starting QB because he wasn't getting the job done.

Not Bobby you illiterate hillbilly. T-Bob and Blackwell.
So them saying that Gregg Williams was at the dome is a fabrication? It's impossible that he was at the Dome at any point?
You Gumps will do anything to make yourselves look innocent.

An outcast that knew he was leaving the state to get a Head Coaching job. To think he had ANY loyalty to Louisiana is fricking laughable.

Certainty that Saints Coaches don't have offices in the Dome and that Bobby Hebert is nuttier than a shite house rat?
Yes. I'm certain.
