It's looking like we'll have 9 lefties next year. Sure is nice to have all these quality arms after what we've had in the recent past.

Justin Loer
Gage Jump
Nate Ackenhausen
Griffin Herring
Cameron Johnson
Jake Brown
Kade Anderson
Nic Bronzini
DJ Primeaux

Yeah but we have a lack of quality RHP behind Hurd and Guidry.

I'd say it looks more left.

True. We need a couple of guys to step up. I'm hopeful that Kade Woods works out.

I think we have a lot of unknowns at RHP after Guidry

but you have to hope someone out of the following steps up
Woods
Moffett
Little
Bucknam
Noot

is Collins back? he feels like a guy on the cusp.

His last two Cape outings have been good.

I think people put more into the RHP/LHP situation more than they should. Nice to have some balance, but if you shove you shove no matter what arm you throw with. Plus, who really complains about having too many good lefties and not enough good righties. I'll take that anyday.

LSU fans always have something to complain about.

you definitely want options in the pen.

strong chance Hurd Starts and guidry can’t pitch every day.

but yeah 10/14 teams in the SEC hit worse vs lefties than righties. 9/10 it was significantly worse.

What leads you to believe this?

Is Guidry pitching next year? I thought everyone had him penciled in at SS for 2024.

This is why Luke Holman is probably the biggest portal target and is also on campus today. Likely the saturday or sunday guy along with adding another arm from the right side.

Is Shores expected to be out for most of next year?

As far as I know, yes. 2025 is expected to be his year.

Most, if not all. I think realistic time frame would be end of SEC play/SEC tourney. They may just keep him out all next season to have him back full health and ready to go for next fall. Especially if they need a roster spot open for another player.

Wouldn't be surprised to see him do both. Can bring him in at end of games and move Nippolt or someone else to 2B and Braswell to SS if need be.

Zach Neto did a little bit of that at Campbell.

Last I heard he is on a similar timeframe as Coleman. I think he can realistically be available around the start of SEC play to middle SEC schedule. Probably have a few short outings in midweek to see how it goes.
