Nobody was open on that play at all. Tennessee had it covered completely.

The throw wasn't a very good throw.

The Tennessee linebacker made a GREAT play in coverage.

That's football.

Without Lee we wouldnt have been in the game. If he had been playing or at least practicing with the starters and got his timing down I believe we wouldnt have had this ending to talk about.

JJ's response if he had thrown the INT: " Yeah I thought my performance on that play was pretty good. I threw the ball pretty good. It just went to the wrong guy... I will be surprised if I don't start next week... I'm pretty good."

At least JL can admit to mistakes.

this on Lee or the coaching staff for poor play design??

J. Lee:
Lee has to throw the ball to the outside of his receiver, no matter who it is. It was a bad pass.

Coaches:
Fades should usually go to your bigger receivers to take advantage of their height. (See Justin Hunter over Matheiu) However, we had succesfully run that play with Ridley and Ware other times, however this time it didn't work. Not the best design, but not a terrible call.

it was a good call and if you watch the play closely you will see ridely did not do what he was taught to do and that was when the lber/db was beat he should have gotten right behind him cutting off the db's path and going to the ball not fading away from it letting the db regain ground....ball should have been high pointed...personally i think ridley blew it....sheppard would have been the better choice

It doesn't matter, LSU coaches get blased no matter what.

The play calling is vanilla
Why the frick would you throw that to a RB

Why do we run all the time in the redzone
Why the frick do you throw in that instance and risk an INT, just run it

It doesn't matter what you do, if it works its brilliant, if it doesn't you should have done the opposite.

Lee on the interception:
"On that interception I threw in the end zone, it was all my fault. I was going to Stevan (Ridley) and I threw it short, and the linebacker made a great play."
thats what leaders do, they take the blame, however the play was ridleys fault

It would have been a good call if we actually ran the belly flip once in a while. The 1st option should have been randle over the middle

that was not a fade...it was a rail route...when done right the rec runs toward middle of field clearing the area....a lber will cover and take a bad angle...rb runs a rail route

The pass needed to be between Ridley and the sidelines. Ridley catches it or no one does.

Seriously, I thought the same thing about the height advantage, but I think that the coaches were hoping that the play would be more open. The linebacker made a heck of a play. Jarrett should have thrown it away. Pass was at least on target. Ridley should have broken it up.

Good playcall, kind of a trick play. Lee should've just thrown it away when it wasn't open.

dis.

B/c wheel routes are thrown to RB's. That play is called in hopes of a defensive breakdown. But, if the LB reads it, then you have to throw the ball where only the RB can make the catch.....outside shoulder. It's actually a pretty conservative play b/c the RB will usually be wide open. But, the QB has to know when to throw it away if the defense reads it. With that said, we don't win the game without Lee.

It didn't lose the game for us, thats what I liked about it. It could have, but it didn't.
