He probably said it to give Mett some competition and make everyone work harder. Mett will be the starting QB.

As long as he doesn't scrap the option play with Mett that Stud called twice in a row against Bama last year! The first time it was called, I knew Mett was gonna pitch it. The next play however, I..like Bama's defense, thought Mett was gonna hold on to it and gash them for a 50 yarder.

Four yards up the middle and a cloud of dust is perfectly fine with me - provided it's four yards every play. Boring to watch but impossible to stop, I'll just go get a beer and wait for the D to take the field.

Actually, it's completely believable, as I've talked to this kid several times over the past mth & he's always been a big Mett fan. He's defended Mett against a lot of the BS thrown his way last yr. This only came up in our most recent conversation. His g.friend works at a sports bar I frequent & he's often there waiting for her to get off work. And he took Jarvis' words at face value, too. FWIW.
