Kendall McCallum shouldn’t have been a little bitch and quit, he would have had a chance to see the field next year.

I believe as we have seen in the past, the coaches will explore every avenue at every position they deem inadequate.

The OP is correct. We lost Queen (Should have stayed), Phillips, Divinity, and Chaisson. We need another LB next year as a HS signee, JUCO, or high impact transfer to fortify our LB core which is the thinnest position group for 2020.

He quit because he wasn’t any good, and everyone in the SEC knew that except Aranda for some reason.

You are dead wrong and you’ll see it proved before this time next year.

Oh, where did you hear that? I mean we don't even have a DC right now?

He’s not wrong. If you look at the depth and see what we lost, any dc would recognize that LB is still talented but lacks depth. It’s the thinnest position on the chart.

Damone Clark and Baskerville give us two proven experienced linebackers. Marcel Brooks and Stevens give us two more guys who are linebacker-safety hybrids. We haven’t seen Donte Starks, so hopefully he is making progress. This is a very talented group to put on the field, but it’s razor thin, and will limit our options a little. Maybe by mid-year the talented freshmen will be contributing, but without a doubt we’ll be weaker at linebacker next year.

Once again, I know that these guys were HS players this just completed season and this is the SEC, but LSU just signed LBer unit is not only the strongest part of LSU's class for 2020 but also the best set of LBers ever signed by LSU in one class. National rankings for ALL players...Webb #42, Sampah #64, Ojulari #130, and White #138. I'll be content with 2 very high 4* and 2 medium 4* any day. Add that to the guys already here and LB unit will be one to watch for sure for performance but I feel a lot better knowing the talent coming in...both quantity and quality. And if you don't want to use ratings, look at their videos as I have.

The list of grad transfer LBs who are LSU starting material is really, really small (if not nil)

Same for DL.

If you are talking about non grad transfers, then you always take an elite talent who just wants to find another home. But, those guys can't help this year.

From 247 appraisal of Polynesian bowl notable players
"ALPHA DOG

LB Antoine Sampah - Sampah had a game high nine tackles and was all over the field. It wasn’t even the numbers, it was the way he flashed to the football. He caused a late fumble that led to the game winning touchdown and looked like the most athletic player on the field. The LSU signee will need some time in the weight room to add some good weight and strength but he showed he can definitely play at a high level."

He was an early enrollee BTW.

do you want to waste one of the limited number of spots in this class on a transfer Oklahoma U backup linebacker. No thanks

we will be fine with Baskerville and Clark and the freshman at ILB

QB and LBer are my biggest concerns for next season. I think we are in good shape everywhere else.

I hope Brennan plays well but he is pretty much an unknown as his game time has been in mop up duty.

We lost 4 LBers so we could use another experienced LBer. I wouldn't be surprised if the coaches picked up one from junior college or the portal.
