- Me: "Russel Sheppard is going to be one of the most electric weapons in College Football history."

- Also me: "Justin Vincent is going to run for 2000 yds and win the Heisman as we win back-to-back National Titles (2004)."

And the absolute worst take I have ever had - After getting Jennings signed, I followed him throughout the recruitment process and loved what I saw in the Elite 11 QB camp: "Anthony Jennings is going to be a star QB for LSU!" - It looked really good after his 99 yd touchdown drive to beat Arkansas but damn that went downhill quickly.

You should get kicked in the nuts for saying that. Did you not watch how hard the 9-6 game was?

We are going to start 1-0 (for the last 5 seasons)

Jordan Jefferson was the answer after the peach bowl beat down of GT

All you had to do was watch him throw 3 passes and you should have known he was not going to be successful. The nose of his ball was down on every pass. Reduces velocity and accuracy. And his decision making was really bad.

I didn’t have much faith in Jayden after his first season in BR.

Same here. I did not think he could fix his hesitancy problem throwing the ball downfield. Nabers and BTJ helped him with that.

The dumbest takes you’ve ever had on lsu football. Maybe said to yourself. Maybe said in your “inside voice.” Maybe said out loud. Maybe said in the stands. Maybe almost a fight.

This is the thread of the season. Like going to confession right before the season starts. Purge those bad vibes! We are forgiven!!

You weren't the only one. I remember many people giving up on him post-UAB in 2000 and even more, in that stretch after Mauck got hurt in 2002 against Florida and we went on a losing streak (with the Bluegrass Miracle thrown in for good measure).

Yep. That was the game that got him fired. It just took the opportune time to do it (three games later).

Sure, Joe Burrow was good in 2018 but a Heisman candidate in 2019? Besides, we never have Heisman quality QBs at LSU.

I thought Cam Cameron was going to be the savior of LSU football after the 2013 season.
Yeah, that never crossed my mind, I knew Les had locked down the offense long before that and it really didn't matter who the OC was, it was Les's offense after 2008 and it never really changed.

But I did think Stovall was going to be the man, and many other stupid takes in my 50-plus years as a fan so.....

I said we should hire Jimbo when it looked like Les was gonna get fired in 2015. Glad things worked out how they did, but I still don't think it was a dumb take.

Most of you think LSU will beat Clemson, and that's a good one.

I remember going to the Indy Bowl and watching him coach Michigan State. I thought, why would we hire a coach we just recently beat?

Then, when he got to campus I’m not sure who else remember much about this, but he started processing players left and right. I remember vividly telling my Dad, LSU isn’t going to have enough players to field a team.

Shows how little I know about football.

I thought last year’s OL would run block and that Jackson would give us an improved power run game.

Definitely a weird one. As if any coach ever worries about such things as appeasing white fans. This takes race obsession to a new level.
