n 247 Team Talent Composite for 2023 LSU is 7 and FSU is 20.

There is a reason that FSU has so many Seniors on the roster, they were not ready for the NFL. FSU has about half the players in the league than LSU. This generation of FSU fans just really does not understand what they are looking at...you dont lose to Wake and NC State even with shite coaching if you are as talented as you think you are. You dont squeak by a mediocre LSU team, or barely beat a bad UF team or a really, really, really bad OU team

That is your returning talent.

Their on3 podcast guy was like, "Im not comparing them to 2019 LSU," while comparing them to 2019 LSU. I'd like nothing more than to nuke them back to the stone age like.

I have never been as confident as they are going into a top 10 matchup bc anything can happen! I think we will have a rough time with their passing game but hopefully we can find a way around that. I'm hoping we can manage a win here and learn a lot bc we are actually playing somebody in the first game! All I will say is that if they don't win, it's going to be glorious, lol.

Would have actually been realistic if it were LSU getting that hype.

The three games we lost last year were when several defensive starters were out or injured especially Lovett and Verse. We just didn't have the depth that you guys have, last year when we lost a key starter. I've never seen anyone mention this for those 3 games we lost. Watched and checked the starting rosters to make sure . It is what it is...that's football... We're a fraction better this year because we have slightly better 2nd rotation players but still if we take a couple of bad injuries to the right group it could happen again...

Last time I checked, Mike Norvell is still their head coach. Not to say he won't have a great career, but what exactly has he proven at this point?

Getting Memphis to the Cotton Bowl was a pretty big deal. He was one of the hottest names in the coaching market for a reason. When you consider the dumpster fire he inherited at FSU, his rebuild of the roster to this point has been impressive.

His career has actually followed a similar trajectory to Tom Herman to this point. In the end, Herman was never able to get Texas to live up to the hype. It will be interesting to see how Norvell handles expectations with his team.

They needed muffed kicks/punts and a blocked extra point to beat LSU last year.....

My point exactly. Fuente did pretty well at Memphis, too. But we saw how he did at a major school. There just isn't any real history of Norvell being successful on a high level. I know he's not yet really had that chance, but he's young and has much to learn. And I'm just not seeing anyone really point to the clear & obvious coaching advantage that we have.

Truth...may you guys NEVER experience Willie Taggart type seasons...

Guess you haven't seen the list of dumpster fire coaches LSU had between Cholly Mac and Lester the Molester (excluding Bill Arnsparger, for the brief time he was here).

We've been blessed to win three NCG's with three different coaches over that time, two of which were, uh, less than stellar (Lil Nicky notwithstanding).

Remains to be seen if Coach Kelly will continue that trend, but we have hope and faith now that an adult is in the head coach's chair.

Edited to add Bill Arnsparger to the "does not suck" list...

Can you really blame them for being confident? They’re going to be a real good ball team regardless of who wins this game
it's not confidence, it's delusion. I remember how we acted with UCLA. They are acting worse than that.

Nobody says that FSU sucks. We have a very healthy respect for them and realize we will have to ball out to beat them. Meanwhile their "experts " are saying they can even play poorly and still win, and their fans are calling in predicting 57-13 wins (yes that actually happened). And their experts are saying "I could see us winning by multiple scores" out loud on pod casts like we are a mid major instead of a top 5-7 program.

From listening, it's not even disrespect for LSU, it's just a belief that their roster is so unbelievably great other teams don't really have a chance. All their comments are based on this idea that they just have far better, even INVINCEABLE personnel. You can tell they have been in the wilderness for a LONG time. They are celebrating the triumph of their program nationally before they have earned it. This isn't about a game with LSU (the opponent is mostly irrelevant), this is them celebrating being in the playoffs. They are back, baby-it's just a matter of how bad they beat everybody down.

Thank You!

Somebody gets it. It's delusion I haven't seen in a while. Even the TAMU stuff last offseason was nowhere near this because that was coming mostly from the mainstream media. Even that ridiculous Auburn talk prior to the 2015 season wasn't close to the level of delusion this FSU fanbase has. It is completely insane.

And the last two times we played a team, besides one who lost half their players, we were boat raced by Aggie and Georgia.
pretty sure both teams were insanely more talented than Oklahoma who had the vast majority of their good players leave before the season started.

I know you love to play faux devil's advocate. Love to play the parent and treat us as the kids, but your rhetoric should be pointed towards a fanbase that sees us more as a group of 5 team than a SEC top three. He's only replying to bad mouthing they threw out first. When are you going to be on LSU's side instead of always taking up for the enemy? Why haven't you spoken on them?

Whole thing reminds me of LSU v Miami in 2018.

Miami was yapping big time. LSU came into Jerry’s World and punched them in the mouth.

I wouldn’t say glaring but their run defense was in the bottom half of FBS last season. They’re also in same shape we’re in with CB’s
