Collegiate Baseball Poll moved us from non-ranked to 16. That seems like a good sign for a possible regional host.

All other polls in the 20’s so they would have to win SEC tournament to get a chance for a regional host.

Well, there will be debate on this topic until the Monday May 30th selection show.
Some think we (LSU) are already hosting being the #4 SEC team in the regular season with 17 SEC wins. But if we beat Auburn (if they beat UK) in game 1 and Tennessee (if they win their first game) in game 2 in the SEC tournament, there is no way they don't put us as a host going 2-1 in the SEC tournament (IMHO). The tournament is single elimination in the first round (seeds 5-12 play) and in the semis and finals.

We’re probably gonna host a regional. I’d personally like a few more wins in Hoover just to make sure though.

If they named host sites today, even with our RPI and ranking in polls, we'd be a host site. They don't name host sites today.
0-2 in Hoover, you lose the spot.
1-2 in Hoover gets tricky.

I would take a 2 seed in 1 through 15 regional over host at 16.

Have some you just started following college baseball. LSU finished 4th overall in the SEC. SEC hosted 7 regional sites last year. Even if only 5 or 6 are awarded to the SEC, LSU is in good shape.

Why is 20 loss UCLA ranked ahead of us ? We have more wins than A&M and they are 5th. I dont get it

It’s because the 16th seed would go to Tennessee in the supers. He’d rather face them in Omaha.

6 of their losses have come in midweek games. They are higher in their conference and have a better conference record. They also outperformed LSU against the same opponents in Houston. They are 21-12 against the top 4 conferences. LSU is 18-15. I think there’s a good case for them to be higher ranked.
