I wish Coach Jones and his family well. I know LSU was a dream job of his...but this is Big Boy Basketball in the SEC. I hope that he can dedicate his remaining years to the community in a positive way. Thank you for twenty two seasons at LSU.

like Les Miles. Wish they were better coaches

I agree he is a good guy like Miles is, but I certainly wouldn't compare his coaching resume to Miles. It's night and day different.

you rather have a nice guy as a coach and not win or an a-hole and win titles?

Where in my post did I say anything about wanting to lose with a nice guy? Some of y'all need to get some better reading comprehension skills.

because they are great reps for LSU.

The best way for coaches to rep LSU is to win.

it's not fair that the good guys don't win. you have assholes like saban winning left and right though. damn shame. thanks for your time, johnny.

I don't know how to respond to this. JJ is a class act. My nephew was upset about JJ being fired because he was at a girls HS game watching his cousin play and they were playing against JJ's daughter and JJ talked to him (he is a little kid) and every time he sees him on TV he gets excited and when he was told JJ was fired he had this "im trying to hold back from crying look"..

But this is the business. Nice doesn't help you win or keep your job. Nature of the beast. I wish him well, but unlike my nephew, I am excited about a new start.

you can be a good guy off the court but you have to have some nastiness during practice to get kids to respond

Hardto hate on Coach. He just doesn't seem to have enough red arse to get these kids going. All the great bball coaches are major assholes (Mark Few seems to be the exception).
