I want to say they tried it once or twice early on with the previous mike that passed away. I dont think theyve ever tried with this new mike.

Didn’t they do it as late as 2011 or so? Or am I dreaming?

To me I remember being on the field for the Western Kentucky game and walking up to Mike in his chariot.

That seems about right, like i mentioned above, it was early in the life of the previous Mike. Which would fall around that time frame

The previous Mike hated it and stopped going into the trailer after a year or 2. They lured him in a few times with goat milk, but that didn’t work long term. They eventually shut it down.

EDIT: my time-frame was incorrect.

Not true. I was in school from 2012-2016 and he used to come around with the cheerleaders on top.

Found the article

"Mike VI stopped entering the stadium during the 2015 season, right before his health took its turn for the worst. His successors will not return."

They stopped prior to 2016.

Mike VI was diagnosed with cancer in May of 2016 and didn’t ride after that. However, prior to 2016 is when they stopped due to his reluctance to enter the trailer by himself.

I thought the last time was the game that got rained/lightning cancelled and never made it up. I have a picture of him in his trailer from that game.

I remember watching one of the older Mikes, in the old habitat, before a game. They were trying to load him and he was sitting on top of those rocks they had. They were spraying him with water to try to get him down.

They stopped trying to force the tiger into a cage around the time of the new habitat. If he went, he went, and if he didn't he just didn't go to the games. It was rare that he went into the cage.

Then LSU had to make the habitat a tiger sanctuary, in order to get the newest Mike. One of the rules for that was no more bringing the tiger into the stadium.

So nobody will see Mike inside the stadium again.
