But somewhere between then and the middle of the season he became a pretty good QB.

If AJ had been developed (or B Harris) where would we have been in bowl season. Or even if we had played to his strengths?

LSU can't develop QB's right now.

This has been beaten to death.

We would have won a few more games, but we dont have anybody on staff that can develop QBs and call plays that help the younger QBs out... Other teams are able to do this, we can't.

Simple as that...

I disagree. While no doubt development plays a huge role, Jennings is lacking some aspects required of being a D1 QB.

You are comparing a 5th year senior's development to a soph and a true freshman

Wasn't Sims a 5th year Senior?

We just cannot develop QB's. We will have to wait and see what takes place this offseason, but to date, we have not seen solid QB development under Miles.

I'm not so sure it's development as it is putting them in situations that cater to their strengths. AJ and BH are not Mett, yet we run that offense over and over. The lone exception was A&M when AJ was given some read option plays.

He has great escapability. Makes him more of a threat.

That's the whole point. LSU fans of tired of waiting to have a halfway decent QB every 5 years

Given a one-season sample size? Jesus, people take this season as all-history and conveniently forget about the great turnaround Mett had between 2 seasons.

Also, Harris has shown brilliance. I'm optimistic about the future.

People should stop saying this. I think people just don't know what they're seeing. Our QBs are developing. They're just too far behind the learning curve to begin with.

LSU runs a pro-style offense. High schools aren't emphasizing pro-style offenses anymore. LSU is recruiting a bunch of spread QBs that are being asked to run a pro-style offense. That's what you see. It's incredibly difficult to find true pro-style QBs today. Maybe there are 3 or 2 in any given year that will blossom to run a pro-style offense. One usually goes to USC.

The question is should LSU transition to a spread. If you do that then the preparation-for-NFL pitch goes out the window. Spread QBs by and large fail in the NFL.

FIFY in the hopes that somehow this very obvious fact begins to sink into the crevasses of CLM's little coaching brain and he makes the required adjustments now, rather than later.

What are you talking about? Take away his first read in Amari Cooper and that #1, holding allowed offensive line, and he's just as average as AJ. I've seen this guy suck arse just as much.

The only difference, is that Kiffin gives Cooper better matchups, and therefore, better first reads. This can only be done because he's a fricking 5th year senior too.

Sims has always made plays with his feet when the play breaks down. AJ does seldomly, but mostly he just takes a sack. So with Sims you just have to work on progressions and passing. AJ needs A LOT more work.
