What do you make of that statistic?

Pretty disappointing.

Almost gave up the lead too against auburn last year on their last drive.

IN two of those three losses, the result was a combination of dubious offensive playcalling and porous defense.

In the most recent iteration, it was just porous defense.

take a look at why...
in a couple of them, we played passively on defense.

We don't get beat bad. Every game we play, we have a legitimate chance to win it down the stretch.

basically didn't help, we sat back and McCarron and Murray went right on down the field.

It's not prevent defense though

It's just soft zone coverage but it's killing Lsu

an overrated (in most fan's eyes) defense is true in all three. Our D was better than our O last year for sure, but late in games they were not. You left out scoring drives on the last or second to last drive of 10 of our last 14 games! That is a lot. Look, I think Chavis, Les, Cam, all our players etc are great and I am proud to support them. But the myth of our D carrying our offense the past few years is just that...a myth..as it was in 2007 in our losses to ark and uk. Our Defense has been very good the past decade or so, but NOT great...

No, the 2011 defense was truly stellar and carried the team.

Les Miles is the head coach - he is to blame.

Would it be less disappointing if our last 3 losses were all by 10+ points? Bottom line, every team in the country has had a "last 3 losses". I would prefer every one of those to be close and down to the wire than any of them to be blowouts.

Don't get me wrong, I'm was miserable after each of those 3 games, as the way we lost them was heart wrenching. However, this statistic in and of itself seems nothing but positive.

It also hurts that our head coach loves to burn timeouts as soon as possible in the second half.

We all watched the games and we all have our opinions of why we lost. If you want to voice those opinions, fine, that's your right as a fan of the team. But with regards to this specific thread, we are asked what this specific statistic tells us. And the only thing it tells me is that all three of those losses were close. Nothing more, nothing less. So while this statistic may be misleading, I can't see anyway that it is not a positive when considered alone.

I was going to start a similar thread, but didn't want what could be considered 2 negative threads in one day. When playing equal talent, we have not been able to put the game away.

Small sample size, but it's a disturbing trend. The three losses are also the teams closest in talent. In the final possessions, Defense game up a huge game losing drive and offense couldn't seal the game. Uga was a little different, bc offense had time to counter but failed. Bottom line is were couldn't perform at the most critical times on either side of the ball.

Chalk up our last 5 games against top flight completion, the same thing nearly happened against South Carolina where we couldn't get a first to seal the game and left the defense to win it. A&M O couldn't seal it but thankfully we had enough cushion, but A&M could have still could have won on their final drive.

Almost happened vs. Arkansas, and Auburn in 2012. Auburn 2013 and TCU were also games that we made way too complicated.

Ole Miss was positive in the sense we drive to ball to win.

It's not a good trend. We've come out on the right side against inferior teams, the wrong side vs. equal talent.

Fair enough. Is he also to be credited for the wins. Cause... You know... We got quite a few of those.

Get over it already. I dont know what you people want. Lsu has a young defense. They lost to a top 10 team and offense. Murray is a potential NFL caliber QB. Its not like we blew the lead against a team who wasnt deserving of the win.
