I believe all four of them threw sliders which Skip was big on. Lange's repertoire doesn't put nearly the stress on his arm and in particular the elbow, as slider pitchers endure. I agree that thus far the staff has done a pretty good job of limiting his innings, saving him for the late season stretch. He could have easily finished 5 or 6 more starts but that wasn't necessary to achieve victory.

Skip was also big on pitching guys a lot of innings

Mestepey pitched like 140+ innings in each of his freshman and sophomore years

Let's do Lange a favor and ignore him the comparisons to Laxton.
