What every potential coach says to get a big contract? Not about to aet the expectation too high.

My man. LSU football is bringing in almost 120 million a year in revenue for football. Yes, they are spending money like gangbusters. But it's their money to spend.... The reason LSU is in pickle athletics wise is because of all the other sports who just take take take and don't make make make.
Football program IS the athletic program. It's the only reason the other sports can be funded.
• Ticket Sales: $43.6 million
• Outside Contributions / Boosters (TAF): $28.0 million
• Media Rights / SEC Network: $18.6 million (attributable directly to football)
• Conference / Bowl Distributions: $13.1 million
• Direct Operating Expenses: ~$50.7 million (leaving the $66.8M net profit)
Men's basketball runs in a 7-million-dollar deficit. Women's basketball runs in an 8-million-dollar deficit (combined there is 15 million of the 26 million reported deficit). Then there's the beloved gymnastics team. They account for 3 million of the deficits getting you to 18 of the 26 million.... Then all the other sports are pretty much just throwing money in a firepit. Spending and not making any money. That includes our beloved baseball team operating in a 1-million-dollar deficit. Then LSU is basically FORCED by the government to throw money into "certain sports" that no one watches besides the parents of the athletes.
The deficit is hurt by BK buyout and coaching shite. Yes, I agree. But the athletic dept. debt is mainly because of big spending in other sports that contribute absolutely nothing to the money pot. Football exacerbates the problem. Yes. But Football could weather the storm if there wasn't all the other sports sucking money they don't make.
