Lane Kiffin Monday Press Conference (Texas A&M Week)...Link and Tidbits Inside

No. 10 LSU (2-1) returns to Tiger Stadium on Saturday to face No. 23 Texas A&M (2-1) in an SEC showdown. Kickoff is set for 6:30pm CT on ABC.
The Tigers enter the matchup as a 9.5-point favorite, with the over/under sitting at 52.5 points.
LSU will look to bounce back from its 32-24 loss at Ole Miss, while Texas A&M is coming off a 31-21 loss to Kentucky. The Aggies won last year's matchup, 49-25, in Baton Rouge, and the two schools have split their last 10 meetings.
This will be the 65th meeting between the two schools. LSU leads the all-time series 36-25-3. Series
History
Press Conference Tidbits:
- Kiffin says team really struggled with the loss, especially after watching the game film this morning and seeing their mistakes. Team thinks the game was right there to be won and they couldn't finish.
- Kiffin says stats show that games at night give home team a distinct advantage.
- At LSU facility, they have been showing Texas A&M game from last week on the TV screens...Kiffin says it helps the team stop thinking about last game and thinking about next opponent.
- Kiffin knows that LSU has struggled against Texas A&M QB Marcel Reed in last two meetings. Will take a lot of discipline on defense to stop him.
- Kiffin was very complimentary of Safety Ty Benefield...says it wasn't Ty's fault on the last TD...Benefield was responsible for the inside gap and someone had the outside. Very special and versatile player.
- Kiffin acknowledges lack of depth on team...often is an issue for first year coaches in portal era.
- Texas A&M gave up a lot of big plays in the air...Kentucky QB was 14-18 for 252 yards and two TD's.

I hear that as well. He had a frustrating tone regarding some of the misses on wide open guys. Sam has the tools to play better. Saturday night will be very telling.

But A&M just has not looked good this year. Kentucky bullied them on both sides of the ball in College Station. Arizona St the week before went into College Station and had them in a tight 24-20 ballgame in the 4th quarter and ran the ball at will against them until they started giving them free gifted turnovers (2 returned for TDs) which made the final score look worse than the way the game actually went.
The LSU defense still did well against the run at Ole Miss, they just didn't have an answer for Chambliss as a passer. Marcel Reed had 2 wild games against LSU the last 2 years but simply put he is not the passer that Chambliss is. You get him to 3rd and longs often like the LSU defense did against Ole Miss and I don't think they're converting as many as Chambliss did. On top of this, Bussey their WR is going to be out. And the game is in Baton Rouge.
I understand why the line is what it is.

Most of the bullet points are fine but I hate hearing shite like:

We don’t really need to know this and it just sounds like a blatant excuse for Saturday. Yeah, it’s true, but it’s not relevant to bring that up. Update us on the shite you can actually control.
