It's saying that Coach will be less reluctant to pull Landry if they bring in a lefty.

No, PM would pull Landry for a righty if Ark inserts a lefty, thus giving RLL at top of the order.

The article is saying PM does not want to pull Mitchell regardless of pitcher, though he doesn't trust his bat against lefties enough to have LLL at the top of the order.

It's clear that PM things Mitchell > Landry. MLB, OBP and fielding percentage agree with that assessment.

Start Landry. Eibner excels against righties with his slider. He has no answer for a lefty batter. I look for "scrimp" and Dean to have good at bats tonight.

Also, we upgrade the defense with this move.

I think Landry needs to take some extra bunts if indeed he starts at the top of the lineup. Set it up for your big guns.

Totally agree with Eibner's slider and Ochinko. Same thing for Helinihi.

The over riding point is Mitchell (who is cold as Sadam Hussein's corpse) needs to sit and let someone like Landry hit in his place.....

ps "My bat is hotter than Mitchell's right now"

anybody who thinks mitchell should sit is a moron. hes started all but like 2 games all season, his obp is around .500 and hes a good defensive outfielder.

you're going to pull Landry, rather than Mitchell.

Mitchell in top, you can't pull Mitchell,

Landry in top, you can pull Landry. and put in Ochinko.

that's what the article meant.

The point is if you can't see that Mitchell is confused at the plate pretty much since the SEC Tourney, then who's the moron, give an equally good outfielder a chance until Mitchell can settle back down....ps just because you disagree with the point doesn't make me a moron....but I guess I can learn something from someone who is used to cheering for a great sports program like rutgers.

You're pretty much the only person I've seen or heard espousing this viewpoint.

You can't hit your way out of a slump on the bench. Jared Mitchell will contribute to this team's success. He has all year, and he will continue to do so.

The point is Mitchell has a deer in the headlights look that is unmistakable....let him watch four or five innings just like you might sit a quarterback for a series or two.....plus you have to get the bat off your shoulder to hit yourself out of a slump.

Better question, Hanover or Hellenni (sp)

This is a no brainer, Helenihi starts for sure. He makes the routine plays and has been hitting the ball. He only had one hit last game but roped the ball the other time to make the 3b make an error.

Wow

People are so dumb. Mitchell's OBP is almost .500!!!!!!! So you'd rather a guy go 1/4 at the plate than a guy who gets on 50% of the time. People these days look WAY to much into numbers. Just because Mitch was 0/3 with 2 k's people say he had a terrible game. He also crushed a ball at the 1st baseman and walked and scored a run. That's not a terrible game.

What's wrong with Landry for Mitchell is that over the top type thinking. By EVERYONES opinion that knows anything about baseball knows that Mitchell is a work in progress....where he is drafted or what he has done in the past has nothing to do with his struggle from the plate lately....example JRussell....Is Landry that much of a downgrade from Mitchell to entertain the thought?

Mitchell is a better hitter to all fields than Landry. If not for JMitch, we lose to Baylor. He contributes, therefore, he starts.

Hanover is kind of the forgotten guy with the "emergence" of Helinihi. For the better part of the year Hanover was the 1 constant in our lineup. Tough break for him, but the team seems to be playing better without him now.
