I recommend that you go find yourself a safe space because it is going to be a long season if you keep hanging around the Rant.

Aleva did the same thing with LSU football...sees it trending downward and does nothing to right the ship. Les stayed on 2 or 3 years longer than he should have and we are still seeing the effects of that while Nickie Fargus-Caldwell has reached her peak and is obviously not a very good recruiter or coach. Time for a change!

Anyone know why the girl from Walker didn't sign yesterday? She committed a few weeks ago as I recall.

Wait..... we still have a lady's basketball program???

You could bring in Gino and it wouldn’t make the WBB program profitable and at the end of the day, that’s what matters in the end.

No, that's not what matters in the end.
Women's basketball isn't going anywhere at LSU or anywhere else for that matter. You can like Title IX or you can hate Title IX, but women's basketball is here to stay.
Making money is not the goal of having a women's basketball program. However, losing less money should definitely be a goal.
Investing resources into having a good women's basketball program is a very important thing to do for this reason. It has the best chance of any women's sport to bring in a little revenue to offset the cost.
The math is simple. If you increase your average attendance by 2000 a game at say $8 a ticket over the course of 15 games, that is $240,000 to help defray the cost of something that you have to have anyway. Softball and gymnastics can't even come close to having the possibility of bringing in that type of money.
So whether you like it or not, women's basketball is something that LSU needs to get rolling again.
The crowd last night was pathetic. Maybe 700 in the building, and some of those were Tulane fans. I had a whole middle section to myself. LSU has drawn well in the past for women's basketball. It can be done.

You expect people to bring up a 5 point win over Northern Colorado?

WBB and pretty much every sports outside of Football and basketball do not make a profit. Some baseball programs do, but not many.
That said this program would not be such a money pit if was ran correctly and has a good product on the floor.
Having successful athletic programs bring a lot to the university as well that’s not seen on paper as well.
The boosters to the program as well have cut back on their donations to LSU athletics as well.

We simply don't have a women's bb coach! How they let her stay is beyond me! Awful!

I think I'm going to disagree on this... A lot of "non women's sports" sports fans have respect for the Gino. I won't say profit but it would come closer to the break even conversation.

this, and true of all sports we field, it took DD and LSU 40 years but now we have a top 5 program and although they lose money, you cant tell me they are not a positive pr for LSU beyond those $ losses, same for men's golf when they won NC a few years ago and all the T&F NC's. If your going to have a team, be competitive! It's why we needed a new women's golf coach, KB did ok for a long time but we were last in SEC last two years, didn't cost any sig dollars to try and improve the program...

Exactly! And you will never see them after a win or congratulating the Coach after a win. Bunch of pitiful human beings. Now they resort to name calling the coach like a bunch of bully school children. The question is why are they so hateful toward Coach Fargas? I haven't seen such hate against any LSU coach. How were they raised to become such hateful vicious people? It shows a lack of class and character.
