They dont have enough money left to pay him his slot without incurring penalties.

Nothing about him should break your heart. He's not coming to LSU, and he never was. The low IQs of the board (like the OP) will build it up like there is a chance, but there's really not.

Oh, thank you God!

Pirates have a deal in place. I’m hearing he will be the last one signed to the Pirates draft class. They have one more top 10 round guy to sign and once that is done all the left over bonus money will go to Griffin and he will sign for over slot.

Makes way too much sense.

He's posturing and then will get mad and tell the pros he wants to be the superstar on LSU's campus. Get ready boys ....

Just kidding. We all know he's gone.

He's doing physicals today and will sign tomorrow for $6.5

Incredible kid, too. Looking forward to seeing his career play out

These numbers are wrong. Whoever calculated these took the signing overages from the 5% and also included same in the Bonus Pool calculation (he double dipped). The Pirates have roughly $6.562 million to apply to signing bonuses remaining and can easily cover the $6.22m slot for Griffin and/or the reported $6.5m signing bonus he will receive.

ETA the math:

Bonus Pool = 14,000,500
5% overage = 700,025
Total = 14,700,525

less Spent = 8,148,500

remaining pool = 6,561,025

That makes more sense. I was trying to do the calculations until I found this site that had it broken down.

Piratesprospects is the site.

Not that it all really matters, I got on the google train and it seems like spending more than your pool is a pretty regular thing for teams.

Saw that site last night and quickly realized the mistake that the author made.

Turang. I convinced myself we had a shot when I should've known better.

I was refreshing this site every two minutes by the time he signed.

I remember that saga, wasn't he already practicing with the football team? If I remember correctly the Dodgers came with a whole lot of money at the last second because he was happy to play football.

It's so cute that you and 225, two of the board biggest known idiots, are tag teaming on this one. You two deserve each other.

I’m not particularly fond of Lester or 225, but you really are a huge douchebag, going all the way back to the Les Miles days… it’s just your personality man. You think you know everything and you think that your OPINION is always a fact and the only one that counts.

Just a neutral observer’s opinion…. I’ll see myself out

You are going to have to refresh my memory. What did I say about Les Miles that ruffled your feathers?

I am an a-hole. Not quite as big of one in real life as I am on here, but an a-hole none the less.

Yeah, I thought your insult and attitude was a bit much, but at least you admit you're an ahole.

I don't think anyone believes there is even a small chance he comes to LSU.
Unless someone wants to come up with 6 milli.

That was what was portrayed but the folks at Baseball America always expected him to sign and Lee was just playing the game in order to get more money out of the Dodgers.

You are insecure and an imbecile. Don't mask it by calling yourself an a-hole

Man I really hurt your feelings by seeing your post saying you thought the Trump shooting was fake. You've been unhinged since that day.

Why would anyone want to be more of an a-hole online than in person? The schtick isn’t cool. I hope you find some happiness in life.

Yeah that’s pretty much spot on. Just glad he publicly announced his assholeness
