I would want Alabama to throw the checkbook at Will Muschamp if Saban retired or went back to the NFL. I think Muschamp is the best young coach in the country and LSU would be crazy not to go after him.

So let me get this straight, this guy who wrote this article is really honestly thinking that the Head Coach for Florida State is going to leave that job and come and coach at LSU? Really? Now, I am the biggest LSU fan and I think that there is no other better place to play or coach than LSU, but come on man, that makes as much sense as saying that Les Miles will leave and go and coach at Miami. It doesn't make sense for a guy at a really REALLY good school like Florida State to leave that job that he has been waiting for to come and take a job at LSU, the same job he already has.

IMO Miles has at least 2 years w/ 7 or 8 win seasons. Next season with 8 wins, Crowton gone. That buys him one more year, then after that.... see ya

I agree with this. Miles stays, but with a tremendous amount of fan and board pressure to turn thing around quickly, if we have an 8 win season; however, I think Crowton would go. OL coach should go to if we play like we played last year. Lots of money for a buyout. A new coordinator comes in, and things would change quickly. Miles has supporters, me about 70/30 per cent, and he has a good class coming in. He does recruit well. Hard to argue that he doesn't. He also seems to correct problems, yet they are not corrected as fast as I would like.

Any conjecture about who would be the coach is just idle talk without the benefit of your Prozac or other mind stabilizing chemicals. EVERY coach is a winner when they are somewhere else. I barely heard of Saban while he was in Michigan. I think Del Rio is not good for us. I would just as soon have Lane kiffin. I don't follow all the talent like others do on this rant, but I think Dooley will be a hot prospect for somebody in the future unless he can have the words to Rocky Top tatooed on his butt..

I have already betrayed and exposed my predjudices a long time ago, but I think the LSU job is a top 5 or 10 job in this country. Put together the tangibles and intangibles about being a coach here, and I think we stack up well. Supposedly years ago Spurrier said that if LSU ever got a great coach, the rest of the SEC would spend their time chasing the Tigers. I believe that. Fan support, talent, only flagship univ in the state, recruiting across the Gulf south. These things make us a hot spot for any prospective coach. Of course they also make us a hot seat for a coach. Note to board, look under category called Miles and cross refernce this with negatiger.

Having said all that, I really think it is too early to shovel dirt into Coach Miles grave. I think he does better this year. Not stupendous, but better. Good enough to whet people's appetite for next year. Another thing people seem to negate is that we play in tough conference. If we swapped places right now with Boise State, we would be scrapping money together for a Saban like bronze statue of Miles. Except for Vanderbilt, everybody can beat you any time any where under certain conditions. Florida and Bama don't own us; they own everyone. BEating them year in and year out is delusional thinking; however, delusion seem to run rampant on this board.

Now for your comments, and I want to hear them. Take my thoughts apart one by one and I'll listen. Let's see if, God forbid, people can actually disagree without asking for my head or diaparaging my ancestery back three generations. Here's a start.

Yes, I like Miles
No, I am not satisfied with how we play
Yes, I think we have talent
No, I do not think we will win 14 games this year
No, I do not think we have the greatest QB situation
Yes, I do think Jefferson will get better, and Lee will be a prodigal son returning to the fold.

Amen, and see you in Atlanta!!!!!!!!!!!
