It has nothing to do with calming down dumbass. It has to do with Math and Money. You are welcome to put up 4-5 million to cover the costs. I am good with that.

You nitwits will be the 1st ones whining when Football Tickets go up to cover the stupidity you and your ilk propose.

If nothing else she will generate fan interest that has been missing for several years, however I don’t think she will be the coach at LSU.

Don’t talk to me about math. You want to live inside your T accounting text book and act like you have all the answers knock yourself out. No one cares.

I explained the concept of revenue generation. You’re too retarded to grasp it because your accounting professor reads your posts apparently.

Go frick yourself too by the way.

Heard it on Moscona so it must be true.

You explained your opinion and you don't think Losing millions of dollars matters and I suppose in your "wisdom" you think you have solved a decades long problem which EVERY ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT IN THE COUNTRY AND THE NCAA HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO SOLVE. However, you think you did it in a paragraph on a message board on Tiger Droppings.

Good for you and if that was damn easy for you to fix then fix the loss of 2.8 million dollars by the Women's Gymnastic Team. I suppose your solution is to go pay
millions of dollars to the Gymnastic Coach of your choice and tell everyone how that is going to transform Women's Gymnastics into a money making enterprise in some nebulous way.

If you want to get mad I don't care. I would like to know how Fiscal Irresponsibility fits into an Athletic Department's mission and an Athletic Director's job.
Money losing programs are a problem and hiring a coach for millions of dollars for a huge money loser makes zero sense.

title IX prevents doing away with women's basketball, but what was the loss of revenue due to WBB before Baylor hired Mulkey and the loss now? What is LSU's loss now and what was our loss during our final 4 years? It's not about making money, but would Kim Mulkey be able to lower our loss enough to justify her salary?....I think she will.

To be fair, it wasn’t that long ago where women’s basketball packed the PMAC more so than the men.....

There they are! That era of Lady Techsters basketball was awesome! Even with Malone/Willie Simmons/Robert Godbolt et al, the girls were the hot ticket back then. Lil Kim was a bulldog(pun intended) on the floor. Fun fact...she pro-created a son and that son became a SS for LSU! Who knew?!?

Nobody is promoting getting rid of Women's Athletics but an AD has to be financially responsible.

To tell the truth the tickets were almost free because I went to some of those games and paid $1 each for the tickets.

Lose 1 game and half the fans will want to run her out of town.

Honestly, I doubt it. I think everyone understands that she will be inheriting bargain basement talent, and even if she lights up the transfer portal, people know this will take a year or 2

Very few people posting in these threads would attend more WBB games if Mulkey became coach.

Regardless of the coach, the product still is tough to watch at all levels.

OK, I've been calling for her to take over the Women's BB program for many years on here and now, all of a sudden, all you fartknockers are jumping on board the ship!

Better late than never, huh?
Wait, you have been taking the radical position that you may want the best coach in the womens game to caoch your favorite womens basketball team?

Damn, you were way out in front of this one.

I suppose I can put this on record as saying Saban is a pretty decent football coach. I know, crazy.

It’s going to come down to whether her daughter wants to make the move or not. If you’re a grandparent you will understand this.

Bruh, give up. This fool only sees dollars and sense and doesn't understand that LSU puts value on things OTHER THAN revenue produced by any particular sport (other than football). He........just.........can't.......see it.

Meh, the guys posting on Tigerdroppings are not the people you'd be appealing to anyway

These guys didn't attend games even when it looked like this, so........................................

Packed PMAC

Tough to watch........................? For who? Not all these folks. This could be us...................

ND vs Baylor

If we have a good team, folks will come to the PMAC and watch...................it's already been proven in the past.

So all you Marketing Geniuses want to throw a few million at a Women’s Basketball Coach in financially difficult times.

You're acting like us "geniuses" are the sole provider of funds for the women's basketball program. We aren't. It's a combination of that, who is hired by the AD, concessions, season ticket holders and so on. If Woodward gets her to come here, that's a grand slam, touchdown, 3 point shot with nothing but net all at the same time.

She is a great coach.

It's a combination of that, ticket sales and so forth. Just like baseball or football.

If you have no interest in the WBB program, that's on you. A lot of people want that program to be successful.

quote:

LSU receives no money for athletics from the State.

Who said they did?

quote:

money raised by ticket sales, donations, concessions and TV Revenue

That's what people are trying to convey to you. If Woodward got Mulkey, her resume' speaks for itself, to come here, the ticket sales would more than likely surge, as would donations, concession revenue, so on.

You're acting like LSU has no money at all to sway her. That simply isn't the case.

If you're uninterested in the WBB program, fine. A lot of people support it. Don't rip on them for doing so.

That's fair, no?

Just because you support it doesn’t mean that a lot of people support it.

At all levels, women’s basketball needs men’s sports to come close to being viable (and I use “viable” in only the loosest and most generalized sense of the concept).
