yea, an MiP is one thing, but DWI... Seeya!

I wonder if he needed to clear the room. I have a hard time believing if Mahtook or Nola got a DWI they'd get the boot.

Funny though how baseball and football have different rules/guidelines (T-Bob). I wonder why it is more acceptable from a football player than a baseball player? Is it because too much money is at stake in football?

different coaches.

So everyone in this thread knows this was his first mistake? I didn't see in the article where PM said this was a one time instance with this kid.....
Posted on 1/17/11 at 1:17 pm to lsuman242
I don't know if it's his first or fifth. What I DO know is, if PM "Let's it go" and the next time he kills someone, people will be saying he should have done something earlier.

I feel bad for the kid, and we will be missing out on a good ball player. But, that is definitely a good example to set and to show nationally that LSU is running a clean program.

The article said that the players have been warned. I imagine that they were told that if they get a DWI, you're gone.

Yep. Sounds pretty simple to me. The coach at some point probably told the players that DWI was something that was totally unacceptable and not to do it, under any circumstance. Then the player went out and did it, anyway. I like the example our coach sets.

I don't see that the kid did anything wrong here.

Must have hit .129 and had ERA of 12.89 in fall ball.....Manieri not stupid, no talent, no second strike!
Posted on 1/17/11 at 3:19 pm to MFPgh
I don't know if it matters how much talent he had. I think this kid was going to get some at bats early on off the bench.

damn pretty harsh over a dwi to kick him. pm alot tougher on our players than les is on football players

I don't mean to be a dick..but if you do not think drinking and driving is a big deal..then do us a favor and go drive your arse off a fricking cliff. DWI's are serious. I don't give a shite if it is Ben McDonald out there pitching for LSU. If you are stupid enough to drink and drive, then you are too dumb to play baseball at LSU. These damn kids think they are invincible until they swerve into another lane and kill some innocent bystander. I want LSU baseball to have 10 all-american's but if they are dumb enough to risk their lives and others...I would rather not field a team. This is keeping the shite real bro. frick yourself up with a DWI but don't go calling your daddy or Paul Maineri when your arse is in jail for manslaughter.

Half a beer is a DWI for anyone under 21.

man a FR kid coming from out of state...Im sure he needs some time to adjust. That's rough. booting him off the team could mess his life up more than that dwi
Posted on 1/17/11 at 5:16 pm to Lester Earl
Is it confirmed hes off the team!Miscona said a baseball player was let go!

And?
Dude was also cited for reckless driving and disobeying a red light. I suspect that more than half a beer was involved.

do you want tbob kicked off the football team? he got a dwi and was rewarded with playing time.
