Serna has made several baserunning errors in the last few weeks. True freshman, though. He will learn.

Serna has to look for the ball there. Didn’t even turn his head until he got to 2nd base

That’s the kind of stuff you learn as an 8 year old.

I don’t think coaches are calling hit and runs at 8 years old

I don't have data on this, but it seems like Cowan is/should be a better pitcher with a lead (not all of them are)
The pressure of coming back in a game makes the hitters less patient/overly aggressive which makes them take some bad swings at his change up
I like this

Baserunning has been rough today.

That's a hit for an 8-year-old, and he wasn't playing in these situations as an 8-year-old, Karen.

Get the jist Fball, watching the ball should have been learned in HS ball. College Fr no excuse.

I hope Yorke can get another hit here. He needs another one after his recent struggles. Would be huge.

Have a feeling Serna wasn’t moved on the base paths much in high school to have developed a lot of situational awareness. I think a lot of people really overestimate the kind of strategy employed pre-college.
Baserunning error for sure and a teachable moment for him.

Dang, I thought he had that one.

This would be a nice time to get that first HR in SEC play.
