Today is the first Non-SEC Power 5 team LSU has hosted in the PMAC since December 2015 (Wake).

Power 5 relates to football programs , not basketball. There are many good basketball programs in other conferences.

We’ve played Texas Tech as well as Oklahoma. If he means in December, then that checks out.

They are still the Power 5 conferences.
Regarding actual power conferences, in basketball it's the Power 6 with the Big East.

It’s not really that random. Wade liked to front load the schedule with mid major schools. He’d usually play a major later in the schedule. They used to really struggle vs the bigger schools OOC

Even when the teams were good they gave the season ticket holders leftovers. They don’t care to build on the diehard fans they now have.
