Kelly not letting former players around program

Can anyone explain the reason all of our former players were not allowed around the program? It makes absolutely no sense on any level and screams total insecurity on BK’s part. Those guys could have been great resources to all of the players and I’m hearing Flint didn’t allow any of them to use the weight room. That's a giant red flag and just another reason Kelly needed to gtfo.

Agreed.
Everyone except Ryan Clark should be allowed access.

Think it was clear there was a lot of blowback from former players about the way Moffitt was let go.
I’m not saying that’s the whole reason, but I find it interesting that the first couple years “The State of Football” was a huge push and then it disappeared. Seemingly when BK realized what he truly got himself into with the LSU base.

Maybe Ryan Clark is the reason why they were restricted from being around players.
Not every guy who came through has the same love for lsu. Some may have ulterior motives.
The same rule applied in the Saban and Miles era's as well.

Maybe he didn’t want the current players to see how winners think and act…Wow, must be some significant insecurity involved here!

The ND talking heads said Kelly did that same crap in South Bend for over a decade, but no one said why he did.
It's pure speculation, but it's likely a control-freak issue. It's understandable if he didn't want bad influences from previous regimes around his teams, but everyone, even champions/winners/successful Tigers???
However, maybe his rumored difficulty in forming real relationships with staff & players also extends to alumni and he callously considers them all "outsiders". (???)

I always thought it had something to do with the whole Odell handing out wads of cash thing. Sort of a blanket ban to avoid any more chances of illegal contact.
But since the NCAA basically crumbled into dust a year after that I’m not sure why he felt the need to continue it.

Kelly saw what happened to O and didn’t want that in his program. Kelly couldn’t ban specific players (cries of racism or whatever) so he banned all players and just made it a policy. Threw out the good with the bad to avoid the controversy.
