He freaked out over a very standard, benign question because he knows the offense looks terrible and he was mad the first comment/question wasn't praising the victory. Welcome to LSU, it's a fricking boiler room. Get the offense going, no excuses for this much talent to look so shitty, with a 4th year OC and QB no less.

The fact that anyone is upset the way our coach spoke to a reporter almost makes me nauseous. Who gaf? Should we light some incense and talk about people's responsibilities for saying something that could be perceived as offensive and how that might affect them emotionally?

BK overreacted, but as a reporter it seemed as though Michael went in there looking to poke the bear.

The question was just asking what many in the fanbase is thinking. Clearly this defense is very good. So why, in a game where the defense gets 5 ints and, themselves, scores 6 points, are you only winning by 10 vs. what is going to be a 6 win Florida team? That was, again, a dominant performance by the defense. One that had to be sustained until the very end because the offense couldn't do their part to put the result out of reach. It's a lot to ask of the defense to be perfect every week.

Which is why the question doesn't come from a perspective of anger or dissatisfaction. It comes from the fact that the fans and media all watched 2023 happen. A year where LSU had the best QB in the country, a championship level offense, and accomplished NOTHING significant from a team perspective...all because the other side of the ball was awful.

Logical people are seeing hints that could be the case this year (just in reverse) if things don't change. So when you (BK) are touting this as a year to make a championship run, talking about "taking receipts", etc., you don't get softball questions just praising good and ignoring the potential areas for concern.

It's entirely possible BK was using his response as a way of showing support for his players, while acknowledging his own concerns with the offense in private. But no one wants to hear excuses from BK. He blew 2023 because they never adjusted a weak unit to at least give the offense a chance to do just enough. Two years later he has a championship roster and this is probably his last, best chance to win a NC. When that is the reality, grinding out wins AT HOME over middle of the pack SEC teams in a game your defense dominates is not a grand achievement. The internal and external expectations for this season are bigger than that.

A better response would have been that we realized they weren’t going to score so we went super conservative. We didn’t do a great job of executing the conservative game plan but we will improve. Or something like that.

And people still would have bitched about that response, lol.

There is no winning for Kelly in a post game presser.

Just keep winning on the field.

Kelly was out of line there. If he thinks the questions are tough now, wait till the first loss. And if the Offense still stinks at that point, everybody else will be asking the same question. Kelly better get a thicker skin.

What Kelly did to Michael Cauble was 100% uncalled for.

The question Cauble asked was 100% uncalled for at the time and he got his arse handed too him as he should have. He essentially asked BK “if he still beats his wife, yes or no.”

I think most of us felt pretty damn good about that win at the time due to the stellar defensive effort and Cauble decided to leadoff the PC with “piss in the punch bowl question.” I honestly think BK would have answered it if the question was asked later in the PC because he did talk about it at the end of the PC when someone else asked something related. BK answered and said “good question, thank you” but nobody heard that.

lol...he's been coaching for quite some time, so I'm sure it's not an issue of "thick skin".

I can't believe so many of y'all are this upset because he jumped Cauble's arse.
