I liked it. He was watching the game and even commented under his breath when we threw an INT. It was refreshing to have a coach that could carry on logical and coherent conversations and even take/give some ribbing along the way.

I explicitly remember watching the 1999 Citrus Bowl between Michigan State and Florida on New Years Day 2000. The broadcasters interviewed Saban over the phone live from Baton Rouge during the middle of the game

When our team looks like a shyte show I don't want my coach acting like it's not his concern.
I am pretty pissed about how things have unfolded. No it's not Kelly's fault but I don't think he helped public relations with that interview if that was the intent.
In fact, I don't give a shite about public realtions with the coach and the media right now. My concern is the lack of pride and LSU team culture and pursuit of excellence. Only half the team has it.

Again, no one agrees with you.
No one else wants our coach acting anything other than optimistic and getting pissed at a bowl game where half our team was missing only gives it more weight as a mark on the program going forward.

WTF are talking about? BK was doing good by the university promoting the incoming change to the entire nation. He was asked to stand in and give the interview; he didn't barge into the booth to make it about him.
Why are you bringing up Saban and comparing him to your hypothetical WWSD? Saban is coaching so that comparison makes zero sense. It was a good look and very appropriate while the nation watched.
I thought ESPN was showcasing LSU very well last night with back-to-back LSU games and Sportscenter coverage of the night. Very positive.

Coach Davis was HC of LSU in bowl game. Did not see him doing said interview, either (Saban).

An outsider here and I think he did a great job. Our office talked about it this morning in Mobile and I think it was the point, give people something to talk about today besides the game last night. Plus he made fun of that stupid accent thing he did. I was impressed.
