Kelly knows what’s going on, on defense, can list it, but seems clueless on how to fix it!

It’s not just that we were all shocked by what we saw on defense vs Ole Miss, it’s that most of it is fixable and coachable. And that we have a $100 million dollar coach that doesn’t seem to know how to do that. That’s really what’s driving us all insane right now.

I'm 65 and I don't recall our defense ever looking like a bunch of junior high girls playing football in the RUGGED SEC. This is no place to play soft. I'm ashamed at our defense for not representing our state. Sturdy, Hardy, Physical, that's how we live but our defense is soft... No heart.

Right. Kelly just doesn’t want to fix it to frick with morons like the OP. 34 missed tackles. At some point a football player has to make a football play.

Most would probably laugh but I would invite Catholic High and Zachary Highs coaches, two of the most successful coaches in the state to get in the faces of these players on defense before and during practice. Someone obviously needs to show Kelly how to reach our players, how to get it into their heads so they won’t ever forget what’s expected of them and what’s being taught.

I feel LSU players on defense are not being pushed hard enough to do what’s expected of them. Oh Kelly knows how to discipline players, he just doesn’t seem to know how to reach them and make them mentally.tough.

Never said nor implied that Kelly doesn’t want to fix what’s wrong. Please get your shite together before posting a response.

And I have no problem with that. LSU fans need a good laugh.

I’m not defending the guy, I’m as aggravated as anyone else with the defense but, you even stated that Kelly said,”no one is walking through that door” and I took that as him saying’these are the players we currently have available.’

He added Pete Jenkins to the staff who I believe will join the staff tomorrow. At least he’s doing something instead of saying “if I knew how to fix it, I would.”

I get everyone, including myself, is ticked off at the poor showing the defense has had and I think a lot of these comments are based out of exactly that, frustration.

I also understand and agree with some of the questionable decisions he has made (starting Speights over Weeks, not playing Womack, giving Jefferson hardly any opportunities.)

A lot of y’all expect him to just waive a wand and fix the issues on defense just like that. We’re two days removed from the game.

If nothing happens and we keep getting these blah blah answers, then I’ll start to question his intentions. I hardly think he A. Doesn’t seem to know how to fix it and B. Doesn’t care.

What? He’s stated what’s expected and I would think he tears into them during practice.

The bottom line is we lack talent on defense, particularly in the secondary.

I think they’re good enough to not give up 700+ yards in a game if they had a better coach (looking at House here) but you can’t just plug in the like of Bernard-Converse, Foucha and others that were here last season. Losing Brooks also hurts.

I appreciate that you understand we are all frustrated. We have all witnessed in these last 4 years the greatest offensive performance ever by any college football team and now the worst defensive performance. Hard to fathom how both can occur so quickly especially with how much these coaches are now being paid.

You are calling our offensive performance the worst?

Please .

Whatever drills Kelly is having players on defense perform during the week isn’t working. That is an undeniable fact.

And I corrected my post by adding that it’s the worst “defensive” performance. Sorry for not making that part clear.

Wow. 99% of the threads, and post, you make are completely stupid. This right here takes it to an entirely different level.

Congrats on finally surpassing NicholasTiger and the dumbest poster on this entire board.

Well, at least I didn’t pretend to be a coach as others have. Like former players have told me, this is fixable and coachable. Also Kelly had transfers last year on defense so why are these transfers so bad tackling?

Pretend to be a coach? If you were saying your ABC's I'm sure you'd have to pretend your way through that.

I just told you why. We lack the talent compared to who LSU lost last season and combine that with poor direction/coaching from their defense coordinator. It’s both things.

With that being said, I refuse to believe that they aren’t good enough to not allow over 700 yards in a game.

I’m not saying they’re the next Patrick Peterson or Mathieu but I think they’re better than they have played.

Keeping more serviceable players on the bench doesn’t help either. Not a shot at any particular player.

Brian is an egotistical nitwit. He’s waiting for someone to walk through the door and fix it.
