If goingo gatlinburg, stop by new Orleans sandwich company. Ask for Don. He is from new Orleans, moved up after Katrina. Wins best food in gburg for past 4 years!
eh, I think Pancake Pantry is the best Gatlinburg has to offer.

Cracker gave some very good info. I would also suggest Gay Street on Friday night and Market Square. Turn left at the Regions Bank and its one block. Parking: try West Hill and Locust Street near the City/County Building. Several Churchs offer barking in that area. Not to long of a walk and you can work your way toward the river. Calhouns will be down there with lots of Tigers in the lot. Also, Ruths Chris offers parking for a fee and its a block down River from Calhouns. The strip is good with numerous parking lots behind the business; usually $20-30 per slot. After the game I would return to market Sq. or go to the old city. Other options for eating would be going up Kingston PK away from Campus and turn into West Hill Shopping Center that feature a Fist Tennessee Business Center/Bank. Several decent rest.; streak, Mexican etc. Have a Great Trip and
I was in BR last week and returning for Auburn!!

Yes; its a weird name but its a major Downtown Street. Lots of places near by that a sports fan would enjoy and one block from Market sq. Some Fridays they put up a huge movie screen and play some kid friendly movie

Also stop at Bayou Bay on 7117 Chapman Hwy. The owner is from Lutcher.

Ruth-Chris is charging 25.00 to park, but they give you a gift coupon for 25.00 in their restaurant.

Smokey Mt. Brewery
The Best Italian
Calhoun's
The Peddler
Log Cabin Pancake House
Bennett's BBQ
Cherokee Grill
are all better than Pancake Pantry.

are essentially the same thing except smokey mtn has good pizza. all those are owned by the same people and the food is so unbelievably average. it's strange people from Louisiana are so fond of those places. i guess it's because of the BBQ, but their BBQ is terrible compared to cities with real BBQ. Pancake Pantry is heaven, and that is indisputable

his wife is from Houma. Their food is legit but the same meals you can get in LA are twice as much there

Also a restaurant that hasn't been mentioned ITT is Litton's in Fountain City (just north of Knoxville, about a 15-20 min drive from campus). Some of the best hamburgers you'll ever eat, and their homemade fries and onion rings aren't too shaby either.

looks like the knoxville convention center has some cheap parking within about a mile of the stadium...is that walk manageable?....
also, I see it only opens 4 hours before kickoff...can I expect a clusterfrick trying to get in at that time or will traffic be manageable?...

Your best bet is a bar, and there is none better than Calhoun's on the river.
I'll try to make it there tomorrow night.

I live in Nashville, and making my first UT trip. My bro in law and I will be getting in around noon. A UT person told me about a rock lot to park down on Cumberland/Kingston right off Alcoa Hwy. Anyone veterans of this trip or UT fans know of this lot? He said it was a little bit of a walk, about 1.5 miles, but it usually is cheap. I've been seeing post about tailgates, and we are interested in dropping in if anyone got any openings and can tell us where to go. Looking forward to SAT!
