Yeah, but these guys are more stupid than hateful. They have legitimate grievances; they just have misdirected their ire.

Kapernick protests the American flag because black people are routinely profiled and mistreated by police. This is true, whether you want to believe it or not. However, the US federal government is in the forefront of the struggle for civil rights. That flag represents a nation that has fought against slavery since its founding. Eventually this led to a horrible, bloody war fought mostly by white people to free black slaves and maintain the Union. This federal government went on a long slog to bring civil rights to black people as well as to give them a leg up financially through welfare programs and progressive taxation.

The injustices, especially around policing, come at the hands of agents of LOCAL governments, not the federal government. The Feds stand ready to prosecute and legislate to prevent these injustices. Kapernick should be protesting against the police, mayors and city councils of Washington DC, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, New Orleans, Miami, etc. If he did he would discover some awkward truths.

what BS. the US flag flew over slavery way longer than the confederate flag.

slavery is gone man for both sides.

LBJ ruined black families and kept them on the dem plantation with his GREAT SOCIETY. that is no excuse now but it killed lots of drive and initiative.

learn about it.

Statistics seem to back this up. In 1960, prior to LBJ's great society, 67 percent of black children under age 18 lived in a two parent household. By 1991, that number had dropped to 36 percent.

I like it when liberals extol the supposed tolerance of Muhammad.

Fine, go to Mecca, the very heart of Islam, and test that tolerance.

Those purple haired twats go back to their gated community so they can try to hate their whiteness out of existence... Right

They should do their march in Mecca....but they would need to keep their head on a swivel...

This is just another way of so called Christians to give people of color shite for having different views on life that makes them uncomfortable and your showing it. Islam as a whole is a peaceful religion just like Christianity as a whole is peaceful but you have radicals on both sides. If Radical Islam represents all of Islam then the KKK represents Christianity.

Wait, wait....so now you are moving the conversation from the Quaran being totally misunderstood and actually a peaceful book of love.

When that is proven wrong...will actual excerpts from the Quaran talking about tortured, beheading, etc...

To now oh, ok both sides have radical views...

Back up say I was wrong and misinformed...

Then change the subject...

Typical...

NY Times

Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf, a swift and streaky Denver Nuggets guard, was in his sixth and steadiest season in 1996 when fans and news media members realized that, during the pregame national anthem, he would either stay in the locker room or stretch on the sideline.

Asked to explain, Abdul-Rauf called the American flag a “symbol of oppression, of tyranny.”

“I’m a Muslim first and a Muslim last,” said Abdul-Rauf, who entered the league as Chris Jackson but changed his name after converting to Islam in 1991. “My duty is to my creator, not to nationalistic ideology.”

He hides his hatred of country in the veil of religion. Otherwise, all people of Islamic faith would have the same reaction toward nationalistic pride. That is obviously not the case.

There’s that “it’s only the radicals” deflection again. And once again, put that tolerance and peacefulness to the test. Go to Mecca with a Bible and see how it goes for you. If you survive that experience, then go to Vatican City with a Koran.
