Why is he playing and still on our team with 2 freshman ahead of him?

I'm ok with it. Many offenses bring in another qb at times to open up the playbook maybe and give different looks to the defense. As long as Mcmillan is proficient enough that the defense has to atleast respect him passing the ball. I'm for it.
I was hoping they were getting there. I'm all for it, even if he turns out to not be the most efficient (just don't turn it over in the redzone!)

Was something up with Etling? Why one play? Why that point in the game? It's the timing of it I couldn't figure out. I'm assuming I was missing something. I've always been for sending in the backup for 2-4 plays when you see something you need to plan with your starter QB. Better than calling a timeout and then 'surprising' somebody because you do it 2 times a year.

But if he will only be brought in just so he can run it everytime. That will not work and it will be stopped easily everytime.
yep. preferably series. At worst multiple play packages (with the first play... every fricking time... being a safe pass).

Because Brennan isn't nearly ready yet and if I'm not mistaken, is still eligible to redshirt this year (though I'm not 100% sure how that rule works).

I wish the package was for Narcisse. I understand them trying to let his injuries heal, though. Plenty to look forward to with Brennan and Narcisse. I really believe our future will be a 2 QB system until we can hit on a true dual threat.

not sure either, but I think there was a rule change proposal that would allow a player to play in 4 games and still be able to redshirt but it either didn't pass or wasn't instituted.

So barring a medical redshirt exemption (god forbid), Brennan's is burned.

McMillan is a stud. He's not being utilized effectively by the Tigers, and it scares me to contemplate why not.

I was hoping he would become our starting QB last year after Harris was benched. I see a LOT of upside in McMillan.

When O was the interim coach, he said he prefered a Pro Style QB. Right after he got the head coaching job he was asked the same question. This time he said he prefered a dual threat. This tells me that O's boss wants a dual threat QB. I made a post on the Eleventh which dealt with Brennan's future...I was clobbered for it. My thoughts were, if the Tigers struggle and a dual threat QB is put in, Brennan could become a situational QB, and he might look for a better fit elsewhere. Just so you know...I don't like dual threat qb's and I am a big fan of Brennan. I think there will be more plays for McMillan going forward.
