Lee threw off his back foot so many times. Lucky to complete the passes he did. There was one screen play called, maybe to Ford, where he sensed pressure and threw it way too early. Wasn’t even close to taking a hit.

there was a thread on here right after the game where this dude did everything he could to excuse Lee's stat line. all manner of screenshots and such.

Ugh yea until he played the gumps. Les was a recruiter and that’s it. As a coach he he really was out of his league with no imagination or presence to see what he needed to do to be successful

The two teams were mirror images, but Saban recruited better in the lines and eventually it took is toll. The NFL draft depleted the lines after 2011 and 2012 and it took years to catch up.

BAMA had better quarterbacking for most of that period, but the offensive play calling was very similar, the executed better at key times.

BAMA was lucky to escape with victories in 2008, 20i2 and 2014 and who knows what happens if the Patrick Peterson interception stands.
Split those four games , a couple of which officiating played a key role in favor of BAMA, and Les is 5-4 over Saban in regular season.

Great post and an accurate account.

After 2012 the talent pendulum had definitely swung in Bama's favor.

With all their inexperience, Oregon had 4 turnovers and like 14 penalties. Their returner got suspended and his backup fumbled. People who talk about how we "dominated" that game and Georgia bc of the final score are as dumb as Less

Mathieu punt return TDs completely turned around the Arkansas and UGA games as well. Sorry but our 2011 team was not that great, you can't continually rely on defense and special teams to bail you out against teams with comparable talent. Miles' idiocy was laid bare in the BCS rematch

I'm just getting around to watching this. 29 yard completion to Peterson with 5 mins to go in the 3rd quarter was the longest play of the game up to that point.
