There wasn’t as much melting either in the game thread

Also it wasn’t a must win for us. We could still come back the next day with Cade on the mound.

Jared is the man. He’s asked to describe the ninth inning and he says it’s LSU baseball. It’s been the most magical three years of my life. That’s a damn fine answer

Wehiwa was the true goat of that inning. Complete mental breakdown

Their SS gets all the blame, but…… if their first baseman plays Curiel’s grounder correctly by going to 1st base and allows the ball to go to the 2nd baseman, that’s an easy 2nd out.

Then.. the grounder by Milam to the SS is an easy throw to 1st for out #3.

There is plenty of blame to go around by that Hogs team in that inning, all of it shouldn’t go to the SS. That was a true team epic breakdown by the Hogs.

I doubt we would've shut out Coastal in game 1 without Anderson though. Could have completely changed the championship series even if we beat Arkansas the next day.

Yep. The top defensive team in the country gave LSU the game.

one of my favorite parts (and it's even in sort of the beginning of the clip) is that the commentators were already talking about Thursday night, the Chants getting sleep and rest, etc.

Curiel's run didn't hurt you even with him at 2nd base in that instance. Milam hit a tailor-made DP ball. One that would have been even easier to turn because Milaim had basically conceded the DP by not running hard down the line.

The other mistakes were split second reaction plays. 1B trying to filed a ball to prevent a hit. LF hesitating for a split-second on a hard, sinking, line drive right at him, the 2B slightly mistiming his jump. But the failure to turn the DP was a mental choke. That's one of those plays where, as a SS, you should have already thought out in your head before the play what you are going to do if the ball is hit to you. Clearly he didn't. Had he done so he would have easily realized that even if they failed to get the out at first on the DP attempt, getting an out at 3 was no bigger than getting an out at 2nd in that instance. In other words, he should have decided before the pitch that he was going to second on any ground ball hit to him unless it was in the hole with all of him momentum taking him to 3rd.

Just rewatched LSU/Arky last inning 2025 CWS

Was on You Tube yesterday and my algorithms popped it up- of course I was going to watch it again, like I have many times over the past few weeks!

I wonder if Arky players will re-watch it before next season to motivate them, or will they shun it like the plague as bad mojo...

I was sitting in the middle of them and going into the ninth one hog fan asked why we don’t have any chants. Told him we don’t have time to make them up… we are too busy hoisting trophies.

I got several fist bumps from them on that one. Over all there were great fans around me that day.

I'll never forget being pissed off after the pinch hit strike out and going to sit outside,my girlfriend comes outside and says, "I dont know if this is good or bad, but i just heard the announcer say thats a double play ball" . what they actually said was ,that should have been a double play ball.

so imagine my surprise when I walk inside and see the score tied 5-5 with bear Jones walking up to the plate
