Maybe because of the way we won?? That has a lot to do with the complaints. You guys act like bc we win that it's hunky dory. Well it wasn't looks to me like the team wasn't happy struggling to win football games against inferior opponents either. 42-7 looks a whole lot better then 17-14, or 21-20 and just scrapping by with a win in the final seconds when our defense had to hold them off from winning in the final seconds. You people need to just admit you were wrong and a hinderance to this team we love and wanted perfection out of. We were all right it could have been better with little change. That is sad to see. Pathetic really and you people were backing this up with positive remarks lmfao.

Consider the short week (due to most of Sunday and part of Monday being lost in the coaching change) and the fact that everything around the program changed, from who's in charge to how things are run. I'm happy that we were able to run the ball so well and keep the pressure off the pass game.
However, we looked competent in the pass game throughout. Etling was comfortable (definitely NOT the case last week), dealt with pressure when it came, and made good decisions with the ball. There were a 3 or 4 missed assignments or bad communication plays, but with things changing this week, that's a very acceptable number considering that Etling went 19-30 and over 200.
The QB and WRs do need to work out the route issues. Etling definitely does need to work on the deep ball with his receivers. The O Line is going to have to get batter in pass protection and prove they can open these holes against a better defense. However, there were a lot of positives to build on in this game. The offense FINALLY proved they can get into a groove and hold the ball. Etling can run the offense with poise and make good decisions spreading the ball around when given the chance. Passing to open up the run WORKS, especially if the O Line isn't perfectly healthy or is having issues with chemistry. Etling has the best play action fake we've seen since Matt Flynn, and if he can get the deep ball down, it will be very effective. The close up on the fakes on Chark's end around showed that everyone executed beautifully.
That's the biggest positive. The offense just handled basic execution. That's where everything starts. With all of the playmakers on offense, simply executing properly will make a huge difference.
