I think naming courts is stupid. And Brown obviously had his faults, he absolutely elevated LSU basketball into a winner and a hell of an exciting event.

The reason the the NCAA tourney doesn't let teams host in early rounds like many years ago was due to LSU hosting as a low seed and going on that serious run with the crazy crowds at home and eliminating the higher seeds. He marketed the program and basketball in general throughout Louisiana. LSU basketball was awful before he took over. And LSU still holds 3 of the top 5 largest crowds ever for regular season NCAA basketball games. Getting 50-60 thousand fans in the Dome to watch regular-season college basketball was unbelievable. And LSU held the record for the largest crowd ever for a very long time.

Probably the toughest basketball loss of my lifetime. We really outplayed them and would have gone to the Final Four had we won.

We guarded their game-winning set so well they shot an air ball. Had it hit the rim we likely rebound and win, but they catch the airball for the go-ahead put back.

Maybe not, but anything that diminishes and pisses off Brown is good. He’s petty enough to lobby against this (recall the board vote was not unanimous), or demand it be “Brown Gunther”.
