Let me restate this again I'm not complaining because LSU lost of course I'm a die hard lsu fan but I love baseball and the CWS is great with or without LSU but take the NC state game a guy crushed a ball with men on 1st and 2nd and its a Fluor on the warning track and everybody thought the ball was gone. In the Indiana vs miss st game in the 9th Indiana hit 2 balls that I thought was gone and thought for sure the second one was but was a fly out and a double. Oregon st hit one in the 9th. And yes LSU hit 2 I thought were gone against ucla. Not looking for a cheap homerun but when somebody crushes a ball they should be rewarded and when a pitchers makes a mistake the pitcher shouldn't be rewarded time after time

4-2 games are quite normal in conferences that actually have more than 1 or 2 good pitchers.

Ofcourse it is. Making bad pitches and being punished for it when the hitter squares it up is quite normal in real baseball also.

Very good point crunch it's one thing to see a couple good to great pitchers but everybody can't be a great pitcher.

Look, I completely agree that something is off in this field, but I think it is more to do with the set up of the stadium (exact opposite direction of roenblatt) . I agree that there have been 5 or 6 shots that would have been out in any other park, and I agree that it sucks that pitchers are being rewarded for mistakes in this park, and hitters are being fricked. But seriously there has been some damn good pitching in this CWS outside of the 5 or 6 "pop ups" that should have been home runs. I was on the edge of my seat the entire 9 innings tonight. Good pitching should be given credit is all i am saying.

You were on the edge of your seat because you're team was playing. I was falling asleep and I only watched 2 innings. If I weren't watching LSU playing against UCLA I'd have fallen asleep in that game too

If anybody can find the scores of the all the 09 games I would be interested in seeing them I've googled and all but can't find it.

A 4-2 score is perfectly fine IMHO. Different, yes, but perfectly fine.

Small ball and manufacturing runs is a bit more cerebral and isn't as entertaining to the crowd that lusts for the return of Gorilla Ball, but it is entertaining to those who like to think about pitch selection and such "minor" matters.

2009 had some high scoring games but nothing like 98. The old bats made for a much more entertaining game.

I will take 2009 any day over this boring cr@p they play now. I used to watch every game in the CWS but now unless LSU is playing it is pretty boring. Yes some games are good like MSU/IU but not near as many.

tried to watch NC ST vs UCLA..ended up watching re-runs of Law and Order...
that should say something about the boredom of the games...
a lot of you are right..
it is the depth of field, also the wind blowing in ads insult to injury and the bats contribute as well.
All of it together makes for "boring baseball"
not to mention that it is unfair to "hitting/offensive "teams and that it also almost cancels any possibility of a comeback from 3/4 runs down in the 8th or 9th inning....(should anyone have scored that many)

The ball needs to change to the pro ball

Pitchers are going from college to pro and having a hell of a time with their pitching. The transition between the balls is vast.

Also a different ball would help the ball go a little further (20ft?)

So there's the compromise

I have a problem with balls being crushed when a pitcher makes a mistake and it doesn't leave the yard. These pitchers are being rewarded for their mistakes with outs.

I completely agree with doc
