I prefer to schedule all my travel far in advance and that’s been completed but flights options and lodging even this far out are not convenient.

You can fly into either St Louis or Kansas City to get to Columbia, MO.

We chose KC even though it’s about a 2 hour drive as opposed to STL which is about 1.5 hours out since it had better flight options.

All flights out of Houston connect! Most flights out of Austin connect and flights out of Lafayette and Baton Rouge all have connections. Flight times in and out are awkward as well with connections being a long delay taking the travel times to and from the majority of the day. This is the situation in most cases but I was lucky and found direct flights out of Austin arriving in the Friday early afternoon before game day. I quickly booked it. I did not search flights from NOLA.

As far as lodging. Any decent 3*+ hotel is in the $300-$350/night + range.
I did a search for AirBNBs within 5 miles of the campus and found only 4-5 that were $300/night or less so AirBnbs in general are scarce.

If traveling to Columbia, MO this Fall you may want to consider looking into this soon. I believe if you wait until the early Summer to book all travel you will be very much limited.

Hope this helps!

Hotel prices are ridiculous. I'm looking into a VRBO or AirBnb. Some decent condo options near campus that are much cheaper then the hotels right now.

Booked my VRBO the day the game date was announced a couple miles away from campus. Pumped to finally check out Columbia.

The Columbia, Missouri Airport, Hair Care, and Tire Center is basically worthless as far as commercial flying goes. Definitely the hardest place to get into and out of in the SEC since you either have to fly into KC or STL, both of which are about 2 hours away.

Agreed! I got lucky and found a AirBnB for $150/night, but it was the only one with a price that competitive and all the others are much more pricey. Good luck

This will make my 13th (correction) SEC campus with only SC remaining to travel to and I can probably agree with this.

I don't know where the KC airport is, but with STL you're already on 70 when you leave the airport and can head west without much thought.

Hotel prices there are always ridiculous because the entire fanbase has to come from 2 hours away as well.

ETA: Southwest normally has a direct flight from MSY to STL that's about 2 hours total. They've cut back on the frequency of it though so there may only be one on that friday.

Southwest has a direct from MSY to KC. Please take into account that the Kansas City airport is about 25 minutes north of downtown KC. It also will be brand new, so I’m not sure how the security will work. The current airport is easy in, easy out.

A heads up for those planning to roam
To Mizzou this fall, far from home

I like to schedule all my trips in advance
But flight options and lodging, not a chance

You can fly into St. Louis or KC
But we chose the latter, though it's far to see

All flights from Houston, they all connect
And from Austin too, with long delays to expect

Lodging near campus, scarce to find
Just a handful for less than three hundred, you'll find

Travel to Mizzou, this Fall, be wise,
Book soon, or suffer, before Summer's rise,
GEAUX Tigers, a battle cry,
To all who travel, to this Missouri sky.

SWA doesn’t even have their flight schedule up yet. It probably won’t be up until March from what they told me for flights in mid October.
SWA not the best option for me out of Austin they were pricey even 6 months out

I just made my hotel reservation. I noticed the Hampton Inn on I-70 has rooms for $228 a night for Oct 6-7.

I live only about 4.5 hours from Colombia and was thinking of trying to go. If it’s a day game, a turn and burn would be pretty easy, but if it is somehow a night game that is out of the question at my age……..

Does Southwest even have their schedule planned this far out? They should have a lot of directs from MSY to STL & MCI

I booked at a Hilton family hotel that is 0.4 miles from stadium at a decent rate.

SWA opens up additional flight dates on February 9.

Thanks for the feedback. I’m def making this my road game this year. It’s one of the few sec venues I have not visited so looking forward to checking it off the list . I looked at flights today and they’re fairly steep. I may drive this one and mix in a night in the Branson area to break the drive up. That’s a pretty drive from what I remember.
