They destroyed Alabama. The competition that we play against .WF is for real .

they also won a one run game from a blown call by the ump that would have sent it to a game three...

Also Wake never played Virginia this season in conference...

Yes they are for real, but they by far did not play the level of competition LSU faced this season...

What’s our average against lefties Lester?

Following last night’s game, LSU is hitting .314 overall.

They are hitting .305 against lefties, and .319 against righties.

For comparison, Wake Forest hits .308 overall, hitting .278 against lefties and .317 against righties.

(Wake hit .265 overall in conference only stats, while LSU hit .280.)

So…the pitching question, if the coaching staff is even questioning the rotation, should be: do we start Coleman rather than Floyd?

Yet you sit here and call other people ignorant.

You've regularly moaned about LSU not being able to hit lefties, yet when someone asked you their average you wouldn't answer. You know it, but you won't answer because it kills your narrative.

Then you say you want to play Stanford, who would be throwing probably the best lefty in the country against us.

Let's hope LSU makes you look like the dumbass you are for about the 20th this time season.

But the other game, not so much. Mayer was dealing against Wake.

I dismiss just about any stat that involves out of conference games.

That said, I’m not worried about RH vs LHP. Statically that is a favorable matchup. In the MLB every year, RH vs LHP is always the best matchup on paper. We are talking over 35k plate appearances of data.

I’m Worried about having 4 LH in the lineup against a guy with a nice pitch mix. In the mlb every year, this is drastically the worst possible matchup for a hitter. We are talking approx a 15k plate appearance sample size most years.

But do we understand why there is such a discrepancy in plate appearances for each split? Well yes, lefties are less common, but mangers manage around L/L matchups because it is as close to an automatic out as you can get in baseball.

Except that two of our lefty batters hit better against LHP

Are you saying he’s mistaken?? Should be easy enough to disprove if he is. Also it’s pretty clear that Morgan, Jobert, Pearson and even Beloso are swinging the bat really well. But let’s look at MLB stats instead, rather than how these guys are swinging it. So, so, so damn stupid.

He's not saying he's mistaken, he is just doing what he always does.

He dismisses a question about LSU's average against left handers.

He says that non conference stats don't matter, but that's simply because those numbers prove the opposite of what he's saying. If the numbers were reversed he would use them.

When the numbers don't suggest what he is saying, then the numbers really just don't mean much according to him. And if you disagree with him, you just don't know baseball is what he'll tell you.

Then why comment, "and left handed."

Why don't you care how LSU does against lefties if you made sure to point this out?

Very strange dismissive attitude about something you initiated.

I’m not sure how much these numbers matter. I agree that the “LSU can’t hit lefties” narrative is made up. But I also agree with Lester—“LSU“ is not hitting against “lefties” tomorrow. The guys in our lineup are hitting against Josh Hartle. And I love Jobert and Pearson as much as anybody, but you’re kidding yourself if you think them and Beloso are not more susceptible to good left-handed pitchers with good sliders than they are RHPs.

Saying our current lineup matches up better against elite RH arms than they do elite LH arms is not the same as saying we suck against lefties. Or that we’re not good against them. Just that we match up better against righties. But who gives a shite. So do most teams. And we’re facing Hartle regardless, so fricking giddy up.

Not bagging on the poster, the sample size is just not big enough to gain anything from.

31% of the ABs taken in SEC play were vs LHP. That includes LSU's RH batters.

Jobert/Pearson/Beloso were part time players in SEC, especially the 1st two. Between all 3, they started 66% of total SEC games combined.

So the sample size just isn't that great. A few hits here and there can look good & give false hope.

Im not saying remove all 4; I would just tweak one spot and pay an ode to the split everyone is aware of. It's not really all that insulting
